We gave up another chance too easy.
Maybe he’ll come good. It’s too early to be super judgemental regarding Wirtz anyway. But of course, with that price tag, there are expectations of fast success and not just that he will geld next season. We’ll see. I don’t judge for now.
But @WeeJoe is right, he has brilliant flashes where you can see great football intelligence.

Gakpo not with it, he was out wide as that developed and stayed there rather than moving into a threatening postion to receive a possible pass from Wirtz

The confidence Wirtz has on the ball, the aura and skill.. just wow. It just feels a matter of time his wavelength matches with the rest of the team, the last 5-10% that’s been missing and he’ll be ripping defenses apart.

Can’t understand why people are picking on Wirtz tonight. I think he been (mostly) good. You can tell he’s quality.
I’d say in general our passing isn’t at the level of last season, yet. Too many wayward passes. I’m sure it will get better the more games these player play together and start to gel.

I wish he’d hurry up and get into the right gear…
All the boys have to get on the same page. Right now half the starters are all new it seems and we’re lacking some anticipation from lack of familiarity.
Frimpong quietly quite impressive again. A lot more solid defensively than I thought he’d be.
