Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

I understand Newcastle have issued Court proceedings to overturn this.

No, FSG had no ownership position in NB. There might be some overlapping major shareholders in NB and FSG partners, but it was an arm’s length deal by any measure, and would have no problem passing this test.

It was a deal of mutual benefit for both parties. Warrior/NB got a profile-building deal, while LFC was only available in the market because of the remarkable cynicism of Adidas in valuing the deal they offered purely on the most recent year - having earned CL final profile in 2005 and 2007 for a fraction of what they were valuing that exposure.

Dunno why they bother it’s only a month.

Oh wait they have more money than sense.

Getting a bit jumpy aren’t they…thought they we’re nearly squeaky clean…have they still got 14 days to claim a refund.

If the PL can do it for a month, they can do it. From their point of view, unwise to let it go unchallenged.

Not sure if I can even put this in the specific club thread for this player so will just leave it here instead.

On The Athletic it names the club, so should be okay?

Two-time Super Bowl champion Malcolm Jenkins has taken a stake in Premier League club Burnley.

The NFL player has become a minority stakeholder in the ALK Capital investment group that took over the Lancashire club last year.

Jenkins, 33, currently plays for New Orleans Saints and is a two-time Super Bowl winner and three-time Pro Bowl Safety.

“I’m excited to enter this new relationship,” he told the club.

“Burnley is known for its tenacity, work ethic, good sportsmanship and efficient operational infrastructure.”

Are Burnley really that well known in New Orleans? I doubt it.

Came here to post that very thing.

This does seem a bit…odd to me. American athletes and entertainers investing in English football clubs. And Burnley of all clubs.

Is that the investment with Billy Beane involved in the background? Something that sounded like a new little moneyball try in football?

Maybe he thought it was Bury but then they went bust several months back.

gooners up 3-0 on Villa. damn.

Took Chelsea 7 minutes to score against the :parrot:

Press 1 if I should put on the Chelsea match.

I think Norwich is the definitive elevator club of this era. They so frequently get promoted as champions of the CH, often running away with it. They get relegated equally definitively. Eight games played, and they are already 2 games out of survival.
