Gave Viera a bit of stick at the beginning but tbf Palace under him have been very good to watch…high pressure and intensity, good possession football at times too.

2015-16 was harder for me than the period with Hodgson. Why? It’s the hope that kills you. It would be too easy for them if Arsenal reeled off a few more wins and shut down the hopes of even the most hopeful Utd fan. What we want is to keep them on the hook for the as long as possible. Make them go into the off season thinking they only just missed out. That is harder than being properly shit.
Honestly, going for 4th is harder than a title run in. When going for 4th you know none of the teams involved are good enough to properly shut the door and so you know there are going to be opportunities to exploit. You just cannot because you yourselves are not good enough to either. It’s that up and down that is draining…the hope of trying to take advantage of your opponent’s loss and then seeing you’re starting with Bruno up front and Lingard just shit his shorts on the bench.
