Despite the mocking of his signing he will score goals…get used to it. If every time he scores there is going to wailing and gnashing of teeth, some folks are going to be in a very sorry state 
by the end of the season.

His record was similar in Serie A though, it’s not his scoring of goals is the hype that comes with it, I still stand by that he will score double in these type of games and then look lost in others.

NewCastles goal keeper has been so poor. Should have saved both. Having said this feel Newcastle will take something out of this game.

What having another striker who scores goals when they probably would have anyhow. If someone else had been in Ronaldo’s position for that first goal he would have scored.
They have throughout the Ole era struggled when a team hasn’t gifted them something, that’s when you would hope a signing like Ronaldo would help, let’s be honest this Newcastle team has looked crap so far this season.
For all the “he will win us the title” and the “he is past it” (include me in that), he will likely fall in between the middle but it would surprise me if he is a better player here than at Juventus.

Not sure I can agree with Ronaldo looking lost. While I doubt he is close to or will be able to attain, his best ever form now in his twilight years; he is still in a super exclusive club of the world’s best ever footballers. But sure, there will probably be many games where he won’t be super. But his talent and skill should not be doubted. Nor his passion or work rate. My opinion anyway.

Also Man Utd’s start is pretty easy going if you remove Leeds who turned up like they were drunk that second half. The fact is Man Utd comfortably won that but then against Soton probably should have lost. That’s the games I mean. It depends also if they travel well.
We won’t get anything watching them beat Newcastle.

Done. Took a hit of -4 and removed Toney, who might start scoring now. removed Fernandes as well who I thought would be my constant captain for this season. It’s Ronaldo captain going fwd. Try scoring now from next week… I dare you!

I’m saying he went missing in games for Juventus when they needed a spark and which they evidently would usually draw or lose.
I’ll hold off the fawning til then. Maybe I didn’t watch his best games for Juve last season but I saw enough, potentially he wanted out maybe who knows.

Think Man U got away with one a bit today. Newcastle punished for shite goalkeeping and abysmal decision making in the box.

I think it’s the lack of perspective and it goes for our fans as well. One game and we need a new striker or one game and we are title winners.
Pundits are the worse, it won’t be Ronaldo had a good game today and did what he was brought in to do, let’s see how he goes, it will title winners, got a real chance, all sorts of odd praise.
Liverpool draw against Chelsea, a team that pundits are tipping to finish ahead of us and then we don’t panic buy a striker and Gary Neville is on TV saying something is up at Liverpool.
And it feels like it’s all a bit of play the game or create a narrative. Frankly it’s like they need to make it like a soap opera.
Guess I’m just bored of the standard of commentary on this “greatest of leagues”.
