You say a merely very good defence, City have been absolutely exceptional in this half at defending from the front. They’ve barely given Chelsea the chance to get out of their half or to string three passes together.

Yeah. They’ll steam roll over the rest of the teams with their squad and would be okay with draws against the likes of us and City. That seems to be Tuchel’s plan it seems.
Chelsea’s plan of counter isn’t working because of Dias and Laporte.
Surely, there is a way to overcome this chelsea team!
I think that’s partly Chelsea’s game plan. I expect to see Chelsea pick it up a gear in the second half.

It is a very 2004-2005 Mourinho-esque performance. It doesn’t bode well for the rest of the top 4!
I was disappointed with that red card in our game for this reason. Wanted to see how can we fare against this side and would have been a game they might have conceded more had they not gone down to 10.

Most certainly not. The Mourinho of then and the Mourinho we have come to deride are two very different managers and people forget exactly how good that team was, as expensively bought as it was. It was defensively as solid as could be imagined but by no means was it just the only thing. They could bludgeon an opponent or slice them open like a surgeon. I fucking hated it.
This team is by no means as accomplished and Lukaku and Werner are pretty shit to be completely honest.

Lukaku is the best. He parks himself in and around the D and then gestures for the inch perfect ball. If he doesn’t get that he throws his hands up in frustration and rolls his eyes. Joker.
