Premier League 2024/25 (Part 1)

Brentford are 1-1-4 in the last six and last week they had their first loss at home this season.

Teams they played though have been good.

Letā€™s see eh.

Yeah theyā€™re a bit meh. Itā€™ll be a classic 1-0 to the Arsenal type of game.

Depends how many corners they get.

Anyway I will remember how utterly awful these teams are when we play them.

Yeah, Iā€™m afraid that Arsenal are better equipped to deal with teams like Brentford away because their defence is really good, in all honesty, and they can nick a set-piece goal almost at will, even if Saka isnā€™t the one taking corners. Itā€™s not like they are some rich manā€™s version of Stoke but their games against such opponents usually boil down to that.

I do hope both Brighton and Brentford can take points off them but both have hit a rough patch of form (and I also think that Joao Pedro is banned for three matches because of violent conduct).

Goldie just jinxed it

I think letā€™s see.

Ultimately we can only rely on ourselves but as demonstrated the last fortnight teams are taking points off others.

Why worry about those games. Just concentrate on us we keep winning and there is nothing others can do. 45 points from 20 games wins us the league

Itā€™s technically 52 points from 20 games needed, as Arsenal have twenty games left, so could theoretically reach 96 points.

Of course, the reality is that we wonā€™t need that many points. Iā€™d say fourteen wins from our last twenty games would definitely be enough.

Hoping that Arsenal get beaten by Brentford or Brighton next week and ā€˜give upā€™ on the title and instead putting everything in the domestic Cups and delusionally the CL.

I donā€™t think Arteta will be able to recover from another season without a trophy.

Im going on 90 been the number no team is going perfect.

Keep in mind Edu has gone now which might make pressure on him come sooner than otherwise

This is a remarkably competitive season so far. The 2nd-10th pack is very tight. We are certainly going to drop points, but the fratricida effect will be intense. After years of seeing 2nd place being 95 points or so, that will likely be more than 1st

If City play like this against us at their place they are in for a pasting. Leicester should have won easily today.

Not sure how Mateta got away with clearly fouling Ramsdale which allowed Chalobah a free header. He clearly pushed Ramsdale away with a straight arm with no ball in sight

Because this is what I do. :joy: Arsenal and Chelsea have an easier fixture list in the second half of the season, so Iā€™ll take any points they drop with both arms wide open.

Theyā€™re also not as good as us.

We have been here before. Top at Christmas and ended up empty handed.
Iā€™m not going to be planning any celebrations until late April at the earliest.

I think you said that earlier in the month when Chelsea had closed the gap to 3pts

The commentator of our game yesterday made a similar remark. Basically, Arsenal play the vast majority of top twelve teams at home. That said, they are still heading to Anfieldā€¦ And itā€™s been a while since we beat them in league, so hopefully our lads make amends for Odegaard freely playing basketball there last year.
