Still a liability defensively. But their attack seems to have more direction. I think they’ll be there and thereabouts the UCL places.

Sure. But this particular game shows tactical problems. All the three goals were defensive fuckups. You can say that Areola should have closed his legs for the first one quicker but West Ham were guilty of giving Chelsea too much time and space.
To me it just shows West Ham are pretty shit.
& some of the players don’t really care to be there other than picking up their weekly wage.

Also have made quite a lot of transfers. But as you said , some of them don’t have the commitment and AWB is probably the worst player on the pitch
As i was saying , it’s a tactical problem for West Ham.
They had already become sneakily effective under Poch by the end of the season. They are still some way off the best 3 sides in the league, but looked even by the end of last season as the best of the rest.

It’s more than a tactical problem when your entire midfield are only prepared to jog back, which they’ve done all afternoon.
The guy’s tried making early changes to switch out his midfield, only Soucek and Soler are no more energetic than Guido/Alvarez

A manager wearing jeans is such a strange choice. It’s the choice of a man unable to make a decision between dressing down to be casual, or going with the formal option.

Being a London club works for some clubs, i.e. Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenhamm, but not so well for others so it seems. I’m sure there are players who sign for a London club such as West Ham just so they can live in London for a few years and get paid more than they ever have or ever will again.
