It’s amazing that they can drop a 4-0 smashing of city in the middle of an otherwise shit run of form with that being their only win in 6
What annoys me is that they’re likely to revert to that 4-0 team when they face us, as do most other teams. But when up against City most others turn into minnows.
You’d have thought Forest smelt blood against City but they pretty much rolled over
Spurs fans were very ready to blame the inevitable return to earth after the City game on Fraser Forster coming into the team - but honestly he’s been perfectly fine.
Ever since you’ve said it’s our title things are turning. Retract Magnus! Quickly!
Why ? Because Fulham is catching up to Brighton and Bournemouth has passed Tottenham on the table ?
Or are you referring to the “Great Terror” ? That absolutely harrowing game at St. James`s Park, where Newcastle happened to be the better team on the day, but we still ended up with a draw ?
Considering we had just beaten Real Madrid and City, I actually guessed that we would lose that game myself, since it is after all very typical after such great and lofty heights But we didn’t. It was a draw instead. But sure we could have won and robbed the game due to Salah. But honestly, overall, Newcastle ought to be more unhappy with the result given that they were the better team.
I am not very worried really
I’ll give you this though. I’ll consider starting my Canossa Walk of shame if Everton some how humiliates us and we haven’t been able to get up again after the Newcastle game. But not if it’s a draw, mind you (because Derby). Canossa Walk only starts if we drop points in the next two games, not just Everton.
The Road to Canossa or Humiliation of Canossa (Italian: L’umiliazione di Canossa), or, sometimes, the Walk to Canossa (German: Gang nach Canossa/Kanossa)[1] was the journey of the Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV to Canossa Castle in 1077, and his subsequent ritual submission there to Pope Gregory VII. It took place during the Investiture controversy and involved the Emperor seeking absolution and the revocation of his excommunication by the Pope who had been staying at the castle as the guest of Margravine Matilda of Tuscany.
According to contemporary sources, he was forced to supplicate on his knees, waiting for three days and nights before the castle gate while a blizzard raged, “one of the most dramatic moments of the Middle Ages”. The episode has spurred much debate among medieval chroniclers as well as modern historians, who dispute whether the walk was a humiliating defeat for the emperor or a “brilliant masterstroke”.[2]
Are there any blizzards currently raging in Norway? Hopefully there aren’t as I’m sure it won’t be necessary for you to spend three days and nights on your knees outside the nearest available castle.
Yes.
I plan to walk mine with Norwegian cloathing though.
Also, since I have not yet (the outrage, I surely deserve it !) been made emperor, I am not convinced that the full prostration is strictly necessary, since I , after all, meant it more as a figure of speech
But if I get coronated I promise to do the full thing and contact the pope and everything, before setting out on the long ardeous walk of shame !
So may Liverpool have mercy on me and win some games
Is there a Japanese equivalent?
I know nothing about Semenyo though…
I was just pointing out that in general, it’s easy to fawn over players who don’t play for the club you support.
Not sure why it took me so many words to not be able to communicate that yesterday.
Magnus just retract now and save yourself the risk (however unlikely you calculate it). You’re a good TANite and it would be a shame to end it all frozen in a Norwegian blizzard.
Exactly how I picture him.
On shrooms…
All the other matches to be played?
1-0 Palace
Man City are just too easy to get at, although I reckon it’s one of those where Palace have scored too early.
Sticking 50 on a City win.
Will Hughes with a cracking ball
Played onside by an oblivious Walker
The mancs from shitsville 0:1 after 4 mins…
Oh dear. I went downstairs to get my dark roast and returned to see that I had missed ignominy.
