Premier League 2024/25

Spursy, spursy, always funny; in the football world. La la, la la ladi da!

Palmer wasn’t looking like a generational player at Anfield when Curtis Jones was dogwalking him about, I’m just saying.

Palmer is a good player. Like a lot of younger lads coming to the fore, he is getting a lot of praise, some of which is over the top. I’m not ready to say he’s great. Let’s see what he does, there’s a long career ahead of him, but I like the way he plays with joy and skill. Yes, the penalties obviously help his numbers!

Going by what they looked like against us, Chelsea and Arsenal are the two Premier League teams who look like they will be there the whole way.

It was an unexpected bonus to see Arsenal drop points at Fulham. Love to see it! And Spurs, from being 2-0 up, found a way to lose. I think there’s a word for it. Spursy or something. But Chelsea are a very good side. On their end, there hasn’t been nearly the scrutiny as to how they were allowed to spend all that dough as Abramovich slinked away into the shadows. Crooked as you like.

To be fair to the lad, his attacking stats are elite even without the penalties.

Pity that there isn’t a cat in hell’s chance that Chelsea would sell him to us.

Really not sure what to make of Chelsea.

They are out of the League Cup and Maresca is basically playing a second team in the Conference League which has massively helped them.

Their run over the next couple of weeks also doesn’t look too bad.

Yeah, I kind of took my eye off Chelsea because I was too worried about Man City and Arsenal and here they are. They are brimming with quality and Maresca has managed to restore the self-confidence and form of Badiashile, Lavia and Caicedo, so they now have a strong spine. Not playing CL and having a huge roster will help them with injuries as well. I still fear Arsenal and Man City a tad more, though, but I’ll know better than to underestimate them.

During motd2 it was mentioned Chelsea’s bench was worth a quarter of a billion. How tf do clubs compete

‘Price is what you pay, value is what you get!’

They’re not worth that much, thats just what Chelsea spent.

They havent been playing all that well this season though have they? They’ve just been massively helped by being so much worse last season and so many teams ahead of them dropping off?

Maybe not, but if you buy 30 players for 80+ million each, you may end up with a good team if you can find the right manager.
It shouldn’t be allowed, but if you can get away with it, why not?

Caicedo studs on Sarr’s shin with the ball long gone.

Kulesevski swinging right elbow connection with Latvia’s head. Ball is on the ground, not an aerial or jumping challenge.

VAR will only intervene for straight red card offenses (serious foul play, violent conduct, etc.),

How on earth were those two not clear and obvious errors??

Quarter billon and still have Robert fucking Sanchez as your goalkeeper

And they had one worth, sorry they paid, 85 million for who didn’t make the bench

Just to reinforce your point, they might be sailing high in 2nd place, but they’re currently averaging a 78 point season.

Spending £2bn isn’t a guarantee of success. But there is obviously a chance that a coach will come along that finds a combination he can get a tune out of. Chelsea won’t win the league this season but I fear they’ll be a threat again in the next few years

Why not? They’ve got as much chance as any of the top four.

Are you convinced by them though?
I could be wrong, but I think they will fall away a bit.
