Who would they replace him with? Rosenior? Really?
According to the Guardian article …
One solution would be for them to turn to the Strasbourg manager, Liam Rosenior, who has long been viewed as a potential successor to Maresca. Strasbourg are Chelsea’s partner club and Rosenior has impressed for the Ligue 1 side. Much would depend on the quality of replacement Strasbourg would be able to recruit now.
Yeah, I suppose it might work, but seems a bit desperate.
I agree with this to an extent. Things are too percentage based at the moment and that leads to dull uninspiring football.
I’ve found myself quite enjoying a lot of the to-and-fro matches in AFCON 2025/26.
Winner for the most unexpected thing I’ll hear today…
Everton is 10th on the table of points secured in 2025. Fecking hell.
Yanited 13th…haha
When did Moyes go back? I suspect that there may be a correlation there.
Almost exactly…11 January 2025 he started his second stint.

They are a very weird club.
Maresca was going to leave at the end of the season anyway. He has his eyes set on the City job.
I’m not sure what has gone on there, but a couple of weeks ago he started talking down about the club. Can’t remember the exact quotes, but it felt then like an exit was coming.
He was backed with loads of signings, and also backed to chop the group down and not even train with some of them, as he said there were too many.
The club World Cup was a joke competition, and they should not have even been there as their invitation was from something achieved in the past and not even close to the time of the tourney, but they won it, and on paper at least, have the squad to put up a challenge for the Prem.
They are a basket case (good). It seems there is a power struggle at the club, and also a lack of vision as they have been talking about a new stadium for years, but don’t look like they are going to do it.
If Maresca has his eye on the Man City job, I wonder what body of work he can point to that would justify it?
Who was it who wanted Ake? He started today and is coming off with a knee injury after 2 mins
Superior technical ability of City comes to the fore
He’s still in the game
Yeah the black magic that kept him on got their sacrifice in the end though after Nico limped off injured
What a riveting night of festive season football.
City going to win this one. Reijnders or Cherki my guess
City throwing a little tantrum.
