Premier League 2025/26

Looked good against us

yeah i didnt want to say anything because i hadnt seen enough of him, b ut the bits i have seen, he has a good future ahead of him if he continues

Yeah, the kid looks great. I’m impressed by his fearlessness, especially playing in one of the worst PL sides ever. Could be one to watch in the future - he’s the kind of transfer Chelsea make five times every summer. :joy:

And then loan out several times,

Insert surprised Pikachu meme. No one saw this coming. What’s next, he’s in talks with Man United?!

Edit: honestly, his audition for Man United job couldn’t have gone better. He fucked us over Guehi’s transfer, now Man City are paying almost the same amount for him anyway, even though his contract is up in six months, and Glasner himself moves without Man United having to pay a penny for him.

Plot twist: Glasner to City.

Fortunately I live just down the road from Selhurst Park. I don’t have far to go to take a shit on their door mat.

I hope Guehi steps in it when he goes to clear out his locker.

I really think this was a set up…stitch up…from the minute Glasner said no to us last year…they’d got it all worked out who was going where and when…shifty characters…

Honestly don’t know what’s the shock over everything that happened.

Not the first and not the last time shit happened in life, in football and sometimes you can’t really put the blame on one thing.

Probably the biggest factor was Palace’s troublesome summer, on the back of finishing 12th and winning the FA Cup, getting into Europe, but having real doubts on that front. It messes up a big part of your summer, how do you do pre-season, how do you conduct transfers, etc.

Made things complicated to know what they work with. Even while having Guehi in past seasons, they were a thin first team squad and didn’t have enough depth in those CB positions.

When you play 3 at the back, it’s not like you really need 6 proper options, but you still do need 5 (and amongst those 5, perhaps a versatile player or two). They had people covering at CB like Lerma, Clyne, etc. That Mandi guy was never fit since he signed for them.

What’s wrong with a manager (and perhaps not only him, these decisions are not easy) being worried about what the stability of his team might look like in the coming season. They lost Olise and Eze in the last 12 months before that and tried getting a future Guehi replacement in. Obviously failed.

So now it’s mid-January, they won the Community Shield and are currently 13th. Badly out of the FA Cup, but still competing in Europe. They feel they’re safe for this season and willing to take a certain fee, even if smaller. Who knows what would their first part of the season look like if they sold Guehi and got Igor bloody Jesus on loan.

Glasner announcing he’s leaving? So what? Who’s blocking them scanning for new head coaches, knowing that it’s a real possibility he goes?

It’s Crystal Palace.

Of course Glasner is leaving at the end of the season.Everybody knew this will happen. His behavior over the Guehi transfer in the summer was unprofessional. He is a perfect fit for club like United.

I don’t think it’s shock…just sneaky…

From who?

That was not the ideal summer ending for Palace, either.

Glasner, Guehi, both of their backroom teams…hope they’ll all be very happy…money wise they all will be…

Yeah, it was all part of a dark plan.

Most of us on here even were laughing at palace’s shortsightedness for not getting money for him then, on the assumption that Glasner was out of the door at the end of the season, regardless

While I don’t care that Guehi has gone elsewhere at this point, what concerns me a tad deeper in this episode, if whether Slotball has begun to lose its lustre.
Obviously money talks in the contract agreement, and if the eye-watering figures quoted in articles are to be believed, it could simply be that was the deciding factor.

I doubt it. One of our issues is when trying to play out from the back - one of Guehi’s strengths.

Yeah on that point upon the pitch it might be a winner… My point was more directed at Slotball and all the parts that go into making it… Slot himself and the belief in him by others in the squad, his training methods, backroom staff, camaraderie (or lack of), the way the last few months have dissolved our confidence etc etc

As for fitting into our playing system though, could be that it is still an unknown at this point…!

Would it not be better if someone were to shit on Man City’s door mat, so he walks shit through the new club?
