Premier League 2025/26

I do hope they throw it away now, the Martnelli garbage deserves it.

Anyhow maybe Nikola is right for once.

I barely watch football anymore, so I have no idea.

But I know Slot’s management has been so poor that any half decent manager could have done better.

Said it after Burnley , if we don’t get rid then we can kiss goodbye to CL next year. It’s at the point now where we can’t be optimistic about beating anyone in the Prem.

There’s the Everton game tomorrow. It might get worse.

Imagine them finishing above us … because they might. :grimacing:

Sooner or later, you’re all gonna turn into me…

It is there for all to see. Carrick may or may not be a good coach but he’s probably a good Man United coach because he loves the club and plays to players’ strengths, unlike Amorim. Their squad is better than they are given credit, it was just about finding the right system for them. I hope that FSG, Edwards and Hughes are taking note of that fact.

There are a few managers that have caught my eye - Alonso, Iraola, Fabregas… But none of them were available at the time. I don’t know if bringing in Alonso now would be a mere reactionary move or a start of proper long-term rebuild but I don’t see it getting better, all while Man United and Chelsea have overtaken us in the table by making timely appointments.

Woohoo you’ve finished 7th have a choccy.

I really only care about those top 4/5 places.

Thing is he probably doesn’t take them much further though.

True but he’s there to ensure they qualify for CL. On the account of his first two matches, would anyone bet against it, especially looking at the form of their rivals?

Not saying he isn’t but your talk is often of Man Utd becoming a behemoth again, qualifying for Europe one season is not quite that.

All we can be certain is that the guys getting a haircut.

And everyone is forgetting they have a week before games, time to prepare, time to recover and less chance of injuries.

Massive IMO

Would winning the CL mean automatic qualification next year or do we still have to finish Top 4 in the PL as well?

Automatic, luckily Carrick’s world beaters aren’t in that.

Yes it would and in the league 5th is also enough.

The key for us to become a behemoth again was to appoint a great coach, start making smart transfers and qualify for CL. They might do it in a different order (unless Carrick completely surprised everyone and turns into a magnificent coach). I’ve already said I thought their transfers last summer were great because they bought players of the right type of character, none of those overpaid big names.

In reality, I’m just angry that they’ve overtaken us and that they are going up, while we’re firmly in a downward spiral.

We’re also still in the FA Cup so there’s that as well. Trying to find a silver lining in the last day and half.

ManU’s win shows how to rubbish we’ve been this season because even if we played at 75% of last season, we would probably be leading the league right now.

They had a manager actively trying to get sacked for 20 games and they’re still ahead of us.

Not after Slot picks the under-16’s against Brighton.

At this rate 2 points a game average will probably win the league. We came 3rd in 23/24 with a better PPG than that!

It really wouldn’t have taken much to be right in this and at least securely in the top 4. Frustrating.
