If truth be told and this isn’t just as a Liverpool fan but I have a feeling we were led on the Guehi deal and 5 million extra would have done fuck all. Evidently they sat on their hands for a month. I do have a bit of sympathy for Glasner.

Not to rehash it again, but it is incredible that they could have an owner being so public about their need to sell their captain while seemingly doing nothing to lay the ground work for responding to his exit. I get the Textor/UEFA stuff would have been occupying a lot of their attention, but finding an adequate replacement for your captain who you are actively trying to sell is not something that can fall between the cracks.

I haven’t read the Joyce article but I wonder if he refrences the stupidity of buying a one-goal-this-season CF for 48 million while selling, or at least attemting to sell, their leading goal scorer for about 35 million?
As we bought a one goal this season striker for 130 million who just lies on the injury table, we probably aren’t in a position to take the piss 
2 goals in 10 appearances as against 1 PL goal in 22 appearances this season puts us in a very good position to take the piss. Plus, Isak 27 goals last season (all comps) as against JSL’s 14.
Definitely 48 million quid very badly spent.
