Yeah, you probably should rethink the being offside on a corner thing
I know the keeper blocker makes an attempt to cut back inside and stay on side. But he does put off the keeper off his mark. All things so easily avoided with a better interpretation of the existing rules rather than allowing teams to slip their shit play in between the cracks.
You cannot be offside on a corner. That is not the frustration anyone has with Arsenal’s set pieces
Keepers get crapped on with any rule change, this idea we are protected is bollocks and often churned out by the gormless former player on any given weekend.
I generally agree with you, but sometimes I do indeed think keepers get a free kick too easy compared to players on the pitch and that physical contact is not allowed with a keeper at all and this is not something I like. But I accept it as part of football. But i would like all physical contact to be equal all over the pitch ideally. However, same problem sometimes in the penalty box. What is a free kick outside, not always blown for inside because the consequences are so much bigger.
So there is an element of psychology as to when a ref blows and one could discuss how much etc. Ideally, I want that element out but it’s not a big issue and would be fucking hard anyway.
I am a strange one though, as I rarely get worked up by ref intepretations or if they get something wrong. I tend to defend refs as I know their job in unthankful and very hard. But ideally, yeah, all physical contact ought to be the same all over the pitch and I personally like a high bar of physical contact (higher than most on the forum as I often think many here want free kicks for 50/50s that I absolutely don’t care about enough to bother with commenting on). But as long as bar is the same for all, not a problem really.
lol at the Arsenal sigh at the end.
But Disasi has four years left on his contract, and Sterling has two years left. I don’t want anyone using the poor Newcastle club excuse again. Clubs do this shit all the fucking time. Good on players for doing the same when they want to force a transfer. So much for Frank being the one to unspursy the impossible.
Not worried about Guehi’s heading prowess after seeing that vertical ability on the header lead to Mateta’s goal.
Leeds went 1 down at Wolves but are now 3-1 at HT. Very early still but it looks like Wolves are going down and at least one promoted side will survive.
Taxi for Potter.
I think Leeds and Sunderland have enough about them which does mean it could be a surprise.
You’d expect Villa to improve, depends who WHU replace Potter with.
Third assist of the season for West Ham’s new fb. Seems to have a decent left peg on him. If they go down I imagine he’ll fetch a pretty penny
It’s a shame he has such an unfortunate name
Yeah, I was avoiding typing it out. Proper Voldemort vibes
In the Norwegian league, we have “Franklin Daddys Boy Nyenetue”.
Just saying…
Molde also had two players called Mame and Pape, who shared hootel rooms on trips.
There is also Efe Lucky.
Edit: Yes, yes, I know it’s El hadji Diouf that triggers loathing. I was just trying to be funny but probably failed.
What about a narrow Chelsea victory (or United victory, it’s not as if they are a threat to us, so mybe they can have some cake) with 5 red cards and 3 players out with knee ligament injuries on both teams ?
You know, the kind of game that was considered a bit rough, back in the days ![]()
