A big part of the āCity are playing 6 defendersā story comes from the fact of how many non-defenders Pep used there. Neither Lewis nor O Reily were defenders prior to Pep using them at FB so it makes sense that they might be given opportunities in their more natural positions under a new manager.

ItĀ“s still 4 CBs and a guy who was brilliant at left back as a senior being moved to play in midfield. Seems a bit silly, even if they are waiting for Bouaddi to take that spot.

Palace look very poor, giving the ball away.
Very foolish run forward from the CB to lose the ball instead of just passing it into midfield.
Wharton is very good on the ball and he isnĀ“t giving it away here unlike his teammates, but I criticise him sometimes that he just strolls through the game. He should be there demanding the ball from the defence, especially as their key player. When he hasnĀ“t got the ball he lacks that impetus.

He generally does well in home games. Neat tidy player. Should buy him if at all Real Madrid bid like 120 million for Macca and he wants to go.
Yeah. heĀ“s doing quite well when he has the ball. Every time they look like threatening it comes from him. I just sometimes see him walking and think he should be demanding the ball to get involved. Would definitely take him here for the right fee and heĀ“d suit Isak, Wirtz and Barcola, but would need a kick up the arse.
Have to say, his team is awful. Mitchell barely looks like a footballer and the front 3 look hopeless. Giving the ball away so quickly.

We can probably guess the level of clubs that will be in for him. I thought maybe Chelsea would push hard for him when they got Alonso, just seems like a good stylistic fit.
