The whole thing is just stupid. It shouldâve been a yellow card for Fernandez and Phil Foden. Foden was in a vulnerable position on the ground and felt Fernandez swing his leg and kick the ball away and make contact with him and he reacted and thatâs just a natural reaction and it was nothing overly forceful or anything. Itâs just bad refereeing. Figures.

I mean, I wouldnât quite put it like that but given that heâs a seasoned experience professional playing at the highest level by now he would be somewhat controlled in certain situations knowing that there are players who are very capable of acting and conning the referee to get them sent off

Itâs ironic that theyâre showing innovations like refcam and the other additions to VAR, but all weâve seen is a steady deterioration in refereeing standards and quality

So many rats on the pitch itâs kinda hard to tell them apart.
The view on refcam we just saw makes it very understandable why Oliver would think itâs a red. But itâs another big decision he hasnât seen well, that different angles, with another opportunity to see it, would surely bring him to a different decision. But because of the way VAR is used we sticky with his snapshot of a decision made with a slightly blinded view, and we call it a good process.
