As for Kiev, it’s a strange one. Are the Russians backing away because they are going to blitz it, with. Catastrophic loss of life? Or is some other thing in place? It’s weird.
There’s another reason for that.
Most of these students are medical students. The cost for a MBBS degree being what it is in India (for the guys who can’t get an admit per merit) which is exorbitantly high and possible only for the richest of the rich (for the people who can’t get an admit on merit), The majority of the medical students there are the guys who’ve spent quite a lot of their savings (Their parent’s savings mostly) to get there…
Also, The point is that there is no bridge course (for medical students especially) which allows students to transfer credits earned in one country to a university or college in another country, This leaves the students vulnerable , If they leave…They’ve lost quite a bit of time and their hard earned money without a guarantee on their future prospects…
That said , I do agree that the Indian students should have been moved at the earliest , even before the declaration of the war… Just offering a possible explanation as to why the Indian students didn’t show the interest to move out first.
Imo this situation has nothing to do where these students come from, and really shouldn’t be important. They are just a group of young and healthy looking young adults, perfectly fine to look after themselves for some time. I don’t think we should overestimate it, it’s not always about nationalities, or colour or whatever.
Never meant to intimate the same , It’s just that there is no excuse for Ukranian Soldiers for beating up on women… or anyone for that matter… or any persons to target any people for that matter…
Its shameful, some things will never change.
Hmm, seems RU is taking heavy CAS from these indeed:

Kursk:
Totally disagree. You are hurting the ordinary people in the hope that they will turn against the regime while acknowledging that this regime isn’t accountable to the people. Look at Iran and NK, there were crippling/inhuman sanctions that didn’t change the regime. In fact, in case of Iran it actually helped the hardliners to gain power. I wonder how stingy the sanctions are for Russian elites.
Lot of people who are in democracies (or atleast the democracies that function) tend to forget the fact that in quite a lot of other countries, the powers that be are well entrenched there in all walks of life. What might be easy for us to have a say isn’t the same for others.
That said, I respect the fuck out of the russians who’ve come out and protested against Putin and this war…But those guys as of now are simply a minority. Any further actions against Russia will only serve to diminsh the minority.
And the fact that those protests were allowed to happen in Russia says a lot imo , imagine the same protests happening in China for instance
Tbh my fear is that this negotiation today was just a fake move for Putin, only to pretend at home that he really tried everything, but he had no other choice etc. Then he will go and sent everything he has to Kyiv to erease it completely.
I hope and pray that I am wrong
The very minute Putin mentioned the nuclear option , He lost whatever shit he had left… For me , at this time , he’s deranged and out of touch with reality.
As reprehensible as find NATO and the continued US shithousery of the world , Putin has to be cut down to size… Let the world figure itself out later once this step is done.
I think you underestimate the Russian people and overestimate Putin’s totalitarian hold.
@ISMF, @Kopstar as @Iftikhar said it could very well bring about opposite results. For instance, the Serbs rallied around Milosevic during NATO’s bombings at least initially.
It’s a fine line to tread.
I can’t even remember how long Putin has been in power.
Pretty well sure most Serbians don’t take nicely to NATO bombing them with depleted uranium shells.
