Is it possible weather played into this as well? The Russians are still stuck to the roads in a flat country that is usually below freezing for several months of the year. On a frozen land I’d imagine their armour would have more options for movement.
Yet when I look at the recent temperature graphs, the temperatures are well above the average highs for this time of year, let alone the average temps:
I can’t read this thread. It’s just depressing to think of what the Russian army may ultimately do to the Ukrainians who are putting up such a brave fight. I can barely bring myself to look at twitter in case I see stories of the conflict turning against the defenders.
However, at the same time, it is totally surreal on social media to see a bloke fag in mouth picking up a landmine and putting it out of the way, farmers driving off with stolen or abandoned russian tanks, locals giving dogs abuse to russian soldiers or taking the piss out of them for being lost and without petrol…and now this - tik tok videos on how to drive russian military vehicles…

This seems like a spectacularly bad, Dr. Strangelove type, idea. Please for the love of all that is holy, base them in Ukraine. Russia would be within its rights to bomb the base, and if based in Poland, that could mean Article 5 activation. Horrible idea . Hope it is noise.

The hippy in me sees an opportunity for a new era of relative peace to be ushered in! What if the Russian troops said, “You know what? Fuck this. I’m not doing it.”. I fantasize that they revolt!!

Weirdly, it made me think of the Formula 1 paddocks before the race, when the skysport presenter goes around explaining the situation of each team competing.
No problem, I will. That Russian academic is an enabling cunt who is exactly the type that should be at the front of raising awareness but is too cowardly to do so and is referencing other conflicts to justify this one. Miserable twat.

Posted this earlier, but it’s the third video of platoon size Russian forces just leaving the battlefield for unknown reasons. This war is not popular with Russians. I strongly doubt it’s because of casualties alone, more than they don’t want to fight hard against Ukrainians https://twitter.com/sentdefender/status/1498447549493092352

That is one hell of a routing they ended up with. Russia is presumably reciprocating all around. Civil aviation in the northern hemisphere is going to be complicated for a while.
Russia is apparently pulling all of their diplomats from Canada. to be announced tomorrow morning. Canadian diplomats will presumably be expelled from Russia tomorrow.
