Russian War Crimes (Part 1)

Just me who finds the term paddy wagon a little niche for a Russian?

In prison and spending his days on Twitter?

Someone is managing his account for him, that“s not difficult tbf.

I see, but how is he constantly getting his messages out there?

He must have good friends !

He’s not just some petty criminal or unfortunate sap. He’s basically the alternative president. Of course he will have some support although I expect his Russian jailers may retaliate. Either way his bravery will hopefully inspire others.

Yeah, cool. I was just wondering with all those restrictions in Russia how he manages from jail and all that…

He has the support, last time I checked, of circa 10 percent of the pop. President is a stretch. He is more an irritating annoyance. He lacks popular support.

Damn interesting piece:

US embargo on Vietnam was lifted in 1994, and its arm embargo was only lifted in 2016. So it’s natural that Vietnam has lots of Russian weapon and is dependent on Russia to prop up the navy (submarines) and air force (SU fighters) against China. It also has always been the policy of Vietnam to be ā€˜on the fence’ after quite a colourful history with the Big 3 US - Soviet - China.

The taiwanese situation is a bit different logistically. Taiwan is looking to defend itself like a mantis shrimp but the US might want to go further than that…

Cool thread on why the Russians are limited to roads

In short, corruption means there has been improper maintenance. When combined with the mud the risk is far too high.

Lots of examples of rotten tyres.

This aligns nicely with the story of present Defense Minister and corruptions in the Armed Forces.

But they are one that will be greatly affected by China’s stance regarding the South China Sea, so surely it would make sense for them to ensure that the UN has proper teeth to deal with megalomaniac dictators trying to illegally control land not of their own country
