Russian War Crimes (Part 1)

Sorry.

Fuck me they don’t change strategy do they?
I mean 1st reports were about Helicopters but it’s evident the target was the supply lines, the helicopters can be taken care of later.
That really takes balls, they must have balls so big I can not imagine how they manage to walk.

That’s all good and well, Putin will then just wait some years and when the Ukraine is really weak he will give it another try imo.

Good, it should be on regular tv news. Though without he music. Music ruins it more than a bit.

I’m no military expert by any means, but I have the feeling that all this talk about how Ukraine is about to stop the Russian aggression is over-optimistic to say the least (let’s remember that all of this is always coming out of the Ukrainian camp). It’s a smart way to keep spirits as high as possible in the Ukrainian camp though. Psychological warfare plays a big part nowadays with internet and stuff.

But let’s remember that at the start of this, all military experts predicted Russia to eventually finish off their invasion of Ukraine, albeit at a high cost in terms of human lives and destruction of material, buildings and infrastructure. I don’t really see anything having changed? The Russians bomb down cities and progress slowly because of sturdy Ukrainian resistance, but it’s still a very unbalanced confrontation. The idea that the Ukrainians might be able to drive off the Russian army with military means is a pipe-dream I’m afraid.

They seem to be doing remarkably well at the moment. I’ve honestly been impressed by them and shocked at how poor Russia have been in terms of thinking, tactics and logistics.

Also appalled at the horror tactics they’ve resorted to.

But like you I suspect they can’t hold on forever.

Currently, Russia is not winning the war except by small advances to the south. Mostly elsewhere, they are stalled and they are taking very heavy, unsustainable losses. There is a reason why Russia is now negotiating. They can’t keep this pressure up indefinitely. But for a while longer sure. Ukraine has certainly nothing to gain from a negoatiated settlement at this point in time. Russia’s demands will decrease as time goes. Remember, they started this campaign with a 3-4 day victory forecast (political coup, then mopping up operations). Now they are stuck and they are taking extremely heavy material losses.

That having been said, Ukraine is not technically winning, it is not taking back territory, only defending. But Russia can’t keep the offense up forever if the West gives them enough aid.

Edit: If Russia wages Total War, mobilises hundreds of thouands more, of course they will win. But at what cost. I doubt they will do that, as they are not fighting Nazi Germany in an existential battle but a war of choice.
