Russian footage:
I am of the view that Nestle should get the heck out of Russia, like many other companies. It is about corporate profit for them, not any form of altruism.
They sell many products, not just baby formula. I don’t know what percentage of their overall business in Russia is baby formula, but it will only be part. And there will be other baby formula suppliers.
And not that I am deeply affected by the issue, but Nestle has a very dodgy past with marketing baby formula in the third world, going back to the 1970s, and being responsible for numerous infant deaths, such that many women in the west have boycotted them for it. I won’t comment further, as I don’t want to derail the thread, but it is easy to research.
Bottom line, Nestle is in it for the money, and their continued presence in Russia is putting profit over atrocity, and while I’m not one for boycotting everything, I will do my best to avoid their products.
This is a very interesting read.
