He is not the deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet. This guy is just a captain.

That was a major loss for Ukraine. More than a company killed probably

They want to make an example of Mariupol above all, it’s revenge, vengence cold calculated and expected from them. This comes above all in their program. We will/might see for the rest of Ukraine if/when that comes about. We can gather frome the 'deportations from Mariupol that Putin’s Russia has other designs on this town than just getting a port. Quenching dissent is the name of the game here in the most despicable manner possible.

According to Klymenko: “Real danger at sea: the Russian Federation has mined the recommended routes from the Bosphorus to Odesa and has announced that these are Ukrainian mines. The latest dangerous disinformation from the enemy.”

Also, Azov is stationed in Mariupol. Their entire campaign is masquerading as a de-nazification project. Important then to destroy Azov completely. I doubt they will take many Azov prisoners. At least they have promised to take none in their propaganda.

They probably have to take Mykolaiv first. Even the Russian’s won’t do a D-Day type landing in Odessa without attacking the outskirts from land at the same time (I think).

Unfortunately, they have form for doing massive deportations of entire populations. It wouldn’t be surprising in the least if this is confirmed.

Hearing stories like this helps restore one’s faith in mankind. Ordinary citizens reminding the world that Lukashenko is not Belarus. (And might not even still be in office if not for Putin.)

Chapeau.
