I am not sure I see the point. The companies are worthless without the energy flows.

Agree. Seems like it would have far-reaching unintended consequences for very little discernible benefit.

could say the same about the billions of dollars in planes they’ve nationalized without any supply of parts to fix or maintain them

Worst case that is hostage-taking, and they can at least put off the reckoning, and/or hope that countries like China or India will find ways to divert parts into Russia. Nationalizing Gazprom Germany is like nationalizing the billing office.

Lots of accidents in Belgorod/Russia lately tbf :upside_down_face:

The fire at the oil depot in Belgorod occurred as a result of an airstrike by two helicopters of Ukrainian troops penetrating into Russia at low altitude - governor

Maybe a false flag? I think it’s uncharacteristic that the Russians would admit something like that right off the bat, makes me a little skeptical.
