Russian War Crimes (Part 2)

They did it in a hurry?

Possibly, but I’m sure Ukrainian’s know which way up their flag goes.

I’m not sure how far it goes back, but hanging a flag upside down is an expression of distress and/or danger.

Presumably they can be adapted to fire from non-Nato aircraft?

The US has very aggressively accused South Africa of supplying Russia, and it appears they have hard evidence of multiple shipments. So far they have confined the accusation to one ship in December at Simon’s Town, but rumour has it they have precise information on several air and sea shipments. That suggests that Ramaphosa’s ‘delicate tightrope’ act is in fact nonsense, South Africa is de facto as much in the Russian camp as China - and should probably be subject to sanctions to ensure Western technology and materials do not reach Russia by way of South Africa.

I despair, truly. Fuck knows why we’ve gone that way and if true, which it seems to be, then it’s despicable. There is literally nothing about our country that bears any resemblance to Russia, or indeed China for that matter. We’re very much modeled, operated and functioning as a Western democracy with the freedoms, and challenges, that go along with it. China is the elephant in the room and that holds true for a lot of countries but Russia barely deserves a mention amongst our trade partners or what it does for the people here.

It’s a whole lot more complicated but the scars of Apartheid are still very visible in that blind loyalty to Russia in how many of the ruling party were trained in camps in the Soviet Union at the time and then the war in Angola in the 80’s. These guys just can’t seem to get over it when it comes to Russia but will still grift their way to expensive lifestyles with all the trappings of the West and somehow manage to reconcile that with themselves. It’s appalling.

If they can prove this then the US / EU should impose sanctions on SA and stop ALL trade & aid. Same with any other country doing this.

from what I understand, BRIC has offered a number of countries a chance for their own independence through building of infrastructure and developing them towards self-sustainability.

Not packages of foreign aid on a string, which is what a number of African countries are accusing the west of these days.

but that’s derailing the thread here. should be in world politics.

I saw some videos recently of different politicians in Africa asking for farming equipment and training and seed to be come less dependent on western “assistance” through food shipments and to develop their own domestic revenue streams.

Well that didn’t take long … the storm shadows before the actual storm.

In 2018 , in an impassioned state-of-nation address before Russian lawmakers and other senior government officials, accompanied by video footage and computer generated graphics, Russia’s President Vladimir claimed his country is working on a host of new nuclear and other advanced weapons including a nuclear-powered and nuclear-armed cruise missile with effectively unlimited range.

Most prized amongst the missile systems that Putin disclosed was the Kinzhal air-launched hypersonic missile , purportedly a game-changer that was beyond any missile defence system known to man ;

“I want to tell all those who have fueled the arms race over the last 15 years, sought to win unilateral advantages over Russia, introduced unlawful sanctions aimed to contain our country’s development: all what you wanted to impede with your policies have already happened,” Putin said “You have failed to contain Russia.”

“No one has listened to us,” Putin declared. “You listen to us now.”

Last night six Kinzhals were fired as part of a fussilade aimed at Kyiv.

Every single one was shot down.

we all thought the main thrust of the counterattack would have been Zaporizhzhia or Crimea. is this the softening of the soft underbelly?

Russia is in the midst of a major round of firing missile salvos, from a fairly limited remaining stock plus some recent production. Western intel thinks that stock has been built up using Chinese-supplied parts. The timing of this round of missile attacks and the Chinese diplomatic effort is likely not coincidental, the purpose of these attacks is to make Ukraine more interested in a compromise peace.

Russia fucking off back to Russian territory and returning The Donbar, Donesk, Luhansk and Crimea back to Ukraine. Hows that for compromise?

The result should be to make Ukraine blow up the Kerch bridge again … and then retake Crimea.

timing is everything. They’re testing out the capabilities of their new long-range guided missiles now in the Donbass. Hitting soft targets at the rear to thin out their supply lines, setting the stage for a major assault. Think we all know what the plan is, to split their line right down the middle after dropping the Kerch Bridge and going straight for Marioupol from Vuhledar. Effectively fucking the entire Russian force so the south and west of Marioupol where it cannot be re-supplied and reinforced except by ship.

What I’m curious to see, is if they bomb the fuck out of Sevastopol when they hit the Kerch to take out any option for a marine re-supply network. although I suspect they’ll plan on dropping the bridge right into the water and possibly create a partial block for any heavy gross-tonnage vessels from passing into the Azov Sea? the water under the bridge is only 60ft deep according to Google, which really isn’t that much.
