No one could add any interpretation because the Russians have not put anything on it themselves. It might be as you say, or to recalibrate for attacks at Scandinavia in the event of a confrontation with NATO. Both could seem correct and are probably contingencies for the Russians. Its as much to keep us guessing as well I think, that would be thoroughly Russian.

Not really. They can inflict damage, reduce Russian air power in particular - but Russian air power has not been that significant.
Feels like Ardiivka is going to fall soon. much like Bakhmut, Russia has made this their current meat grinder where they are sending their prisoners to die.

no signs this is ending anytime soon. Wonder if Russia was prominent in the instigation of the Gaza incident (via Iran/Hezbollah), to distract the west from Ukraine and draw their resources away. Not much action in here for 12 days since that happened.

Might the current stalement be pointing towards an eventual negotiated ceasefire ?
I could hope for that, however I don’t think that Ukraine will give up the Donbas and Luhansk regions which are currently occupied by Russia. Reparations for damages, etc.
