Russian War Crimes (Part 2)

We see more and more Russian troops riding in everything from technicals to even golf carts (latter is no joke, it has been observed at least once before blown to smithereens).

Make no mistake, they STILL have thousands of BMPs and etc. But many of them are wrecks from storage, they have to be refurbished. Takes time. They also produce a lot. But their army in Ukraine is very big. 450 000 men. Their loss ratio, much, much higher than production, so often you will see some units that normally would have been equipped with T-90 or T-72 B3 and lots of modern IFVs, be equipped with t-62s and civlian cars sprinkled in between the IFVs. Some unlucky units even have T-55s from storage.

Russia will still win this conflict, as it currently stands. the only way Ukraine is able to oust the Russian presence is by western intervention. especially in Crimea. They’d have to drop the Kerch Bridge to make that happen.

Or the war lasts long enough and/or is painful enough for Russia to withdraw, as the Soviet Union did from Afghanistan. But for that to happen, several factors must change. As it currently stands, the trajectory is eventual Ukrainian defeat. And Ukraine is also much more imortant for Russia than Afghanistan was for the USSR and Kreml remembers what happened after.

But internal-politics in Russia is hard to forecast. It always is in an authoritarian system with very limited political freedom.

The End Game is not yet set. Russian victory is trending, but if US Congress passes aid and long range missiles are eventually sent to Ukraine and Ukraine is also allowed to strike RU proper with them, it would change things significantly. As of current, Western advanced weapons have very limited utility since Ukraine is not allowed to use them in Russia against Russian military bases and logistics. This requires a radical American change of course. It is not likely to happen, but it’s a hypothetical.

can you imagine what would have happened 80+ years ago if the European nations decided that they didn’t want to get involved in the war against Germany for political reasons, like the ones given by countries like France two years ago?

it still boggles my mind.

What happened 80+ years ago might not have happened if certain countries hadn’t encoraged it!

Very interesting thread

I’m afraid that the writing is on the wall now. I’m maybe too defeatist, but the near future is concerning for all of us.

Ukraine should bring it back to the front page with some destruction in Moscow or equivalent. Another angle is targetting Russian citizens and Putin supporters in foreign countries. Some bloody mess on others doorsteps.

What’s been happening in the Middle East over the last six months, very much suits Putin, as the war in Ukraine is now rarely mentioned in the media. The attention of the West is now focused on the Israel/Gaza/Iran conflict. Meanwhile, the Russians are gaining ground and Ukraine is running out of ammunition and desperately needs the advanced military hardware, to continue the fight.
There’s absolutely no doubt that Iran’s dirty fingerprints were all over the Hamas attack on 7th October and Iran is a close ally of the Kremlin. It doesn’t take a genius to work out who else might have been involved in discussions leading up to that attack.

this whole war just proves how false our current narrative is in terms of global security.

Who would have thought, that in this day/age that Russia could invade and annex a significant portion of a sovereign country, without reprisal. For sure, Putin could care less about international sanctions. his oil is still flowing via the ghost fleet and BRICS will ensure it will continue.

Really it just shows how blinded we have been by ‘the narrative’ pumped to us.
There has been indications of Russias intention in regard the Black Sea for many years. Yet when mentionned more often than not it was poohooed.
Let’s just feel save even if it is compounded by Europe being completely unprepared so the more brushing under the carpet the better.
The USA being the only deterent seemed nul and void with the Trump presidency and the undermining of Obama and even more so Biden just helped open the doors.
The future looks bleak.

next will be Taiwan.

We’re already watching Israel take the Gaza strip, unopposed… hell, they’re even being given weapons to do so by the US.

Ukraine might just get yet the lifeline it needs. It looks like the Speaker is about to do the right thing and the Dems are on board to get the package through.

Yeah!!! More of our hard earned tax dollars just given to foreign countries. Wish they would use all that money and clean up our own country. All the money that’s been given to Ukraine and Israel…We could have had all the homeless taken care of, the war vets, money could have gone towards schools, parks or programs for inner cities, finishing the border wall, money towards the mental ill, etc etc….hopefully someday the US will stop playing big brother and fix our own countries issues first. It’s amazing how many politicians are getting richer and richer the longer these wars continue.

dig a little deeper, where does the money go… 60 Billion doesn’t go to Ukraine, pal. it goes to the war lobbyists who are funded by the armament companies. that 60 Billion will go to BlackRock et al.

Yesterday was a monumental day that may indeed change the trajectory of the war. It’s 8 months too late, and it’s hard not to think of what could have been, but it is so, so, so important.
