It seems they want to depopulate the area close to the front.

Russians trying to take the mine in Vuhledar. It they succeed, Vuhledar will fall due to geograåhy. So far, they have gained ground but been repelled. RU attacks there daily, usually with platoon and smaller, sized groups to probe and take ground. Costly, but such human waves are effective if you have enough of them over time.

'Now these islands are completely under the control of Ukraine. ’
Is that so ? (I seem to remember just after Kherson was liberated at just how perilous it was for UA to get across the river and out onto the islands.)
There has been numerous field executions of Ukrainian prisoners in the last 2 weeks. It is normal, I don’t usually post about it, it’s not important on a macro scale, so I tend to not mention it as I tend to focus on movement of forces instead and strategic bombing and less individual deaths of individual people.
But @WeeJoe made me a bit sad, with the “Gaza is so much worse” argument in the other thread, since it is so fundamentally based on lack of knowledge, that I decided to post this event from yesterday, since it is slightly more spectacular than usual.
The executed him with a stupid fantasy sword. But since he is a prisoner and a soldier forced to fight for his homeland, his worth is less than the average Gazan to some.
It’s normal, these field executions, but some how people are still unaware of the scale of slaughter in Ukraine and apparantly, people need to see:
Of course, we have seen Auscwitz style starvation of POW where returned POWs look like this so often:
I’m not the best of moods. Normally I would not usually post this. But some are are unaware of scale, so prudent to mention that this happened just the other day and is completely normal apart from the method of execution.
Obviously graphic
Ukrainian drone strike on a Russian arms store causing a small earthquake:
It says that this is unverified, although purported footage has been posted online
Not very unverified, my friend. It is certainly the largest explosions in 2024…
I understand that people don’t read tweets without me actually pasting them all, so let’s spend some time doing just that, I suppose.

They are talking about a munition loss eqaling to 18 heavy fighting for Russian Task Group North. That is an obscene amount of ammunition in the context of this industrial war and will be severely felt by Task Group North.
Russian seem angry
I should post about political development and front developments too, i know. Much has happened after all. But I don’t have time. I am sorry. It takes too much time to copy paste and curate what to actually post and I have to go to bed now soonish and I am frankly tired lately. I promise to do a larger update soonish. Apologies.
Use various sources in the thread with and read for yourself if you want news asap, please.
This explosion and fires are Mordor type of graphics.
Shame they didn’t get them all…
Yes, but very importantly, the depot is out of comission, as it’s far to dangeorus to transport remaining ammo out of it for quite some time. It’s still burning, it’s the largest one in Russia and connected to the railway, and it was supplying Russian Task Group North.
We are talking about maybe more than 14 days (initial sources claimed more than 18) of all the ammunition the entire Task Group North spends. That will have very, very real effects in the supply chain.
See here for instance:

I doubt they are transporting much ammunition out of it tonight or tomorrow, or the day after and the day after that etc. Eventually they will of course, but the entire site is blasted and it will not be that easy for several reasons
Crazy how much land and how many villages and towns have been razed to ashes. It’s such a large area. You can virtually the see the moon landscape.

A blackened belt where nothing grows, that is the front.
I can’t be bothered with the front and maps tonight. Too much work. Soon.
