It is being held by special forces. You see that on the equipment, such as raptor boats.
Regardless, being garrisoned to Snake Island must be hell no. Ukraine bombing it every day and the island is tiny.

Guess I am posting this even though I find the flattery disgusting (I usually avoid such posts, but since it’s concerning the US, I guess I can make an exception) in so many ways.

From the bombing in Berdyansk seaport 
Apparently, Russian forces have abandoned Snake Island (unconfirmed that). That’s not very strange considering the size of the island and how it is a prime target for the Ukrainian Air Force.
