Iām OK with not given those titles out to the 2nd place/runner up teams but do feel they should be stripped from city, not just asterixed.That should be where the punishment starts, it shouldnāt even be up for discussion.
The PL should have that wrote into their rules"if you win by cheating, that win gets taken away".

I assume they will appeal, and fail, and then take it to the courts outside football. At that point I donāt know what sort of timeline we are talking about, ugh.
The punishment needs to hurt them for multiple years, as their cheating helped them for multiple years. There should be a certain symmetry in that.
I expect their players to leave as they wonāt be able to afford them, and neither will top players want to play against the Dog and Duck. They will have to try to build it up again from a much lower level.
I see both sides of the argument for awarding runners up the titles they would have missed out on. Itās a mess, whatever happens there.
The main solid argument is the titles should be stripped from Man City.
I see them having to set up a large fund to satisfy numerous legal cases that are going to come against them.
I hope it all plays out relatively swiftly now, given we are already many years into this.

Has the makings of a Jarndyce v Jarndyce..
It is revealed that a lawsuit dragged on for generations until the entire estate is consumed by legal costs. Lawyers continued to make plenty of fees, thriving and succeeding, where their clients were caught in the wheels of the Jarndyce case and watched it consume their lives.
I donāt expect a resolution in my lifetime unless they accept a relegation and a large fine knowing they will soon be back.

The bigger takeaway is that all those city wins are tainted.
We all knew that 10 years or more before.
City fans chose to dig their heads into a hole around that.

BBC Sport has been told there has been little appetite from within the Premier League - both the organisation and clubs - for past titles to be stripped from City.

Redistributing titles is a problem because of causation in law; simply because City cheated, it does not necessarily follow their points haul would be less, or another team would still have exceeded them by points, but for the financial fair play. This is very difficult to navigate in law, despite the obvious moral reasoning, that it would seem sensible to redistribute titles. itās hard to preserve causation. to this extent. That being, unless of course redistribution is provided for as a remedy available to the PL in the multi party contract.

That was from Bleak House, but it was based on the real case of Jennens v Jennens which had started before Dickens was born and finished around 40 years after he died, with all funds taken up in legal costs.

Precedents were set with Forest and Everton, whose charges were far less?
All other clubs are in different federations si would be up to each federation to investigate.
Australia and US have established rules already in place for club owners, so i think those 2 clubs would be safe but questions could arise if Abu Dabi decide to pull their cash out
Whos charges were vastly different its like comparing Apples and a piece of coal.
The NRL in 2007 and 2009 stripped the Melbourne Storm of there titles after the salary cap cheating came to light neither title was reawarded those years go down as no winner.
