So many kids were afraid to go into the sea because of Jaws (I was one of them and I remain apprehensive about swimming in open water) that its impact, for me and many of my generation, has exceeded any of the other creatures on the list.
Whether that means it should be considered the greatest is, if course, a matter of opinion. I personally think it counts for a lot. But then, against it, is that it’s not exactly got much depth to it other than being a (truly) frightening biting underwater menace.

Eeyore is a great character, and let’s face it, we’ve all met him at some point in our lives, but a very tough draw in the first round against one of the top favourites.
