The Arsenal Thread (Part 1)

What is with this “on fire” in English football? Arsetata does it, now Eddie Howe/Howl is claiming “on fire” as well.

“In terms of my fire, my fire is burning very, very strongly. That’s no guarantee from my side what’s going to happen in the future because as I’ve said, the forces that move in football clubs move quickly. But my fire is there. There’s loads of wood stacked up and I’m ready to put it on it.”

He’s just another Brendan Rodgers at this point.

Did he have 4 envelopes with 4 pictures of trophies in them to toss in the fire?

Also, bet Arsenal Facilities Management and H&S teams loved that.

I saw an interview after the Sporting game with their captain, who Im guess was Danish or Swedish or something. Not a player I know but a big viking looking guy with a Scandy accent. He was absolutely scathing of Arsenal’s approach. Not in an “it is unfair” sort of way, but in a this is kind of embarrassing how little interest they have in playing football" sort of way.

So same shit we’ve been saying all season

I think he’s overtaken Brendan in terms of cringiness, by far.

This season he might overtake him in results as well, but all is open.

Oh, the poor entitled Arsenal fans.

Do think Neville was overegging them a bit today, they looked like a mid table side that turned up on the day and bar a quick 2 chances seemed to be playing for corners.

They might look back on that Eze shot that hit the post in the same way we look back at that mad goal-line clearance when the ball was about 99.99% over the line.

The chokers are activated. Abit late this season but activated nonetheless. Man city win their next game by 2 goals, they overtake them. Oh my, if that happens, wonder will Arteta stay. Unless they win the CL of course.

They only have to win, assume it’s

Points
GF
GA
H2H

City are ahead on GF so effectively would go above them. They also have H2H advantage. We now can’t have a playoff as City won today.

You are right on that although I would think they want to score as many as possible because GD counts next after points and there is every possibility both of them end with same points.

But maybe it’s best Shitty wins, then Shitty gets deducted points because of the charges, Arsenal gets awarded the league but Arteta will always have that shadow of winning not on his real merits

You’ve had us finishing 7th and now this, what’s your next prediction so I can make sure I lump on against it?

Real Sociedad won the Copa Del Ray on the weekend, their first trophy in 6 years and only their second since all of their players were even alive.

Merino and Zubi were looking on from Arsenal pining for the good ham and the mountains.

Masturbation balances that out.

Not to mention Zubimendi also missed out on the title last season.

Nice. Also like Legoman:

O — Overacting
M — Manipulating
A — Antics
N — Nada

Or Legoman: Spends 5 years building an expensive set… forgets to include the trophy piece

They’re just on par with Pochettino’s Tottenham, but ten times more delusional.
