Maybe, but the way he’s talking it sounds like he wants guarantees that I can’t see us giving. Personally, I’d prefer to see us signing players with the attitude that they are prepared to fight for a chance.
Maybe he’s being misquoted, but he wasn’t even a regular starter for Brighton.
I used to know a guy who was convinced our attacking problems (under Rafa) were because we didnt get enough 1 on 1s. He was convinced that we just needed to work on generating more of those and we’d score more. I couldnt get him to understand that it was only a fraction of a step away from saying the solution to our lack of attacking threat was to score more goals.
I also think it’s basically between him staying at Chelsea or going on another loan to Brighton. Maybe officially for the outside it won’t have anything to do with the Caicedo negotiations, but it could have in some capacity. Don’t see Chelsea willing to sell to one of it’s rivals and their price tag might be too much for Brighton to do at this point. Another loan to Brighton wouldn’t be bad for him, continue where he left off, try and play more games than last season, European football also, etc. We’ll see. But I don’t think we’re signing this guy.

I would think he’d take Robertson’s place in the side if we keep the same system we played with last year. Wouldn’t get the overlapping runs but that would probably help the defensive shape of the side in transition. A midfielder in for Robertson in that team posted.
I don’t necessarily agree with others that Chelsea wouldn’t sell him to a rival - Havertz, Kovacic and Mount would suggest otherwise, although the way Chelsea are going perhaps it’s Palace, Brentford and Everton they’d choose to reject.
Young players I feel we’re allowed to use “generational talent” to describe: Jude Bellingham.
