I’m being sensible, anyone with half a brain wouldn’t go near the Henry VIII cosplay.

Oh wait…

Hear me out, but is there a world where Man Utd bring in Southgate as a caretaker to get the club back to basics, and he does well? It made me think about what someone posted on Redcafe that even though it’s a horrendous option on paper, do they need someone who can come in, make the players feel good, believe, and just keep things simple on the footballing side of things?

what’s your definition of well ? Finish in 12th ?

Top half/pushing for European places i.e. Conference League, Europa League.

Doubt it. They can probably go on an FA cup run though. That’s where the teams competing on multiple fronts often have to go with weakened / tired sides. Top 10 would be a major finish for them this season let alone finishing in conference league spot.

Maybe Steve Barnes would be a better option?

Away to Brentford next.

They should win that

I would like to apologise to all fellow reds for the above post. I had zero intention of cutting short this phase of the ongoing amusement that United currently bring.

Can anyone confirm that if they sack Amorim now his compensation package is £12m. However, that drops to £4m on 1st November.

It will be Glasner.

Southgate it is then.

Wouldn’t be a caretaker though he’s going want some assurance

And if it is Glasner or Southgate Nikola will follow it up with how they are back and so on.

Problem is they are shockingly run at this moment, they have money for players because they have no desire to spend it on the infrastructure or staff of the club.

They want the government to build them a stadium because Sir Jim decided to stop funding the Tories a week before the election.

Don’t see Glasner leaving. He’s got his team having a chance of qualifying for the Europa this season (whether it’s with league performance or through ECL).

His CV will look much better with better run clubs in the reckoning for him after this season ends. We’re looking at clubs who are a permanent fixture in CL. Even Serie A clubs for that matter.

Same with Iraola. There’s no logical reason as to why he should make the shift from Bournemouth to United.

They could just renovate Old Trafford. That would be cheaper than them having to build a new stadium. Even not looking into the entitlement for that one.

I’m here to ease my pain from the Palace defeat. Carry on.

Iraola would probably have more of an incentive to leave mid season but with Glasner is it more how the clubs are run than how good the manager is?

Remember Richard Hughes put a lot of that in place at Bournemouth. Could even make the case on Arne Slot. Of course you can’t put any old loser in but Man Utd are a basket case currently.

Graham Potter was the bees knees now he looks championship bound.

Iraola will be a wanted commodity by City, Chelsea and Arsenal. That’s three teams who would need a top class coach in the near future. Glasner could easily turn up at Napoli or Inter and lead them to the title.

Not to mention Atletico Madrid who will have to move on from Simeone at some point.

Let’s see…

I think that is true to some extent but I have to think both Glasner and Iraola are smarter and more flexible than what we have seen from Amorim, so should be able to get more from Utd’s current squad than he has.

The fact they also didnt jump ship at the first opportunity suggests they are confident enough to back themselves.
