The only major issue with having the specialized formation is that with Amorim wanting specific players , what happens if after buying 6-7 players and selling 8-10 players and they come to the realisation that Amorim needs to go ?
Lack of running isnât really an issue for them though, itâs being able to move the ball away from the back and into threatening areas in their opponentâs box, and scoring from that. Stop Bruno from having the ball anywhere near your penalty area and you pretty much stop Utdâs attack. Otherwise, they appear to be really only capable of breaking defensive lines when winning the ball high up the pitch.
When they have the ball at the back, they have trouble moving it forwards if you sit off their defence and cut off the other positions.
Yes agreed, miles isnt an issue but intensity in the right places is. Their tracking back at times is awful. Better than it was, but still poor snd thats before you get to the individual errors and almost lazy nature st finding space.
Arguably them finishing so low and not getting CL football might, if you squint a bit, just help them. They donât have an easy fix, or a band aid to put on it. Itâs not a matter of a couple of players and we are up and running again.
We all know what they need. Clear out. Then bring in players of a certain type. Young. Hungry. Sensible wages. Coached well, to a long term plan and vision of building it up again. It will take some time and dedication, and patience will be required. Climb up the league, methodically, and work to a plan, with a team built in the managerâs image. Perhaps expectations there are now so low that Amorim will be allowed the latitude to do that sort of thing?
That has to be the play. And we will see if he really is all that. On the evidence of this past season I donât think he is up to it, but they have to back him to do something like this, as they are stuck in a cycle that is getting them nowhere.
I would have thought the same thing, but theyâve decided to spunk most of their summer transfer budget on Cunha, who while talented is obviously a fucking dickhead and will just be using them as a springboard to Real/Barca. Theyâre also targeting Mbeumo at 60M, and while I rate him, heâs not the CF they desperately need and Iâm not certain heâll fit Amorimâs system. Those two alone push them over their summer budget, but their fans are convinced theyâll rase over 150M from the sales of Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Onana, and Garnacho. Given that itâs public knowledge that Garnacho and Onana have bene told to look for new clubs, theyâll be lucky to get 10M for Onana and 25M for Garnacho. Sancho is going nowhere, heâs on 350k a week and nobody will pay those wages. Rashford is also on a high wage which will severely impact any fee they can get for him. Antony to his credit has done very well for Betis and should fetch 30-40M for them, but again, not all of this can be invested back into the squad since they have massive obligations for installments from previous transfers and interest payments on their gigantic debts.
I actually thought they were smart to target the likes of Delap and guys like Mateta and others with expiring contracts, etc. But it turns out, theyâve learned absolutely fucking nothing this past 12+ years and will continue to spend stupid money on bad transfers.
Appears theyâve gone back to their tried and tested transfer strategy of buying the best player from the clubs around them.
Itâs just now instead of buying the likes of Cole, Yorke, Berbatov, Carrick and van Persie, theyâre taking players off 16th placed Wolves and 19th placed Ipswich.
Delap only wants to go to a team in Europe, it wouldnât surprise me if Spurs end up with him on account of shithousing the win over United in the EL final.
Quality bit of spin here. Basically, if they had qualified for CL or won it, that would have been pretty bad because the wage bill and bonuses would have gone up.
A couple of years ago a front line for England including Rashford and Sancho would have been popular among lots of fans. That puts into perspective how bad, and frankly weird, things have got at Utd. And itâs likely to go be worse next season as they struggle to officially offload some of these guys. It makes questions like âis Martial still on their booksâ pop into your head.
If you told me they were still paying salary to Pogba Iâd believe you.

I think Sancho is a bit of a lost cause, as he seems to have surrounded himself with an array of twats, but I still think Rashford is a decent player. Looked really good for Villa. Nowhere near his once potential, but still decent.
