The Man Utd thread (3)

There’s a fair chance we will see a massive uptick in Man Utd’s fortunes this season. Amorim took his time to assess everything, and now they are backing him to shape his team.

Top half beckons.

He’d have to be manager of the season if he pulls off that sort feat. Man Utd in the top half of the table? Who’d have thought the little club from Carrington could make it all the way to the top (half) of the PL table.

I agree. Without European football, they can focus on the league and domestic cups, and play their strongest side most weeks without concern over fatigue. I rate Cunha and Mbuemo, and it’ll be a vast improvement on what they previously had. Training will also be focused more on tactical and technical details than mere recovery.

My hope is that the two in the middle continues to be absolute mush, and their defensive set-up falters.

Good to see wind is being blown up their arse again.

Pride comes before a fall. But yeah I’m sure they will play a half and half Bournemouth side in torrential storm type conditions every week.

Or is it for the fans?

Numb their senses so that they can stomach watching the turdid football being served up without complaint

Poor souls at the cafe .

So where are they now on the cycle? I’ve lost track. Are we at misplaced optimism?

Rio absolutely stealing a living. RVP was 29 when he joined Utd and there were complaints at the time about the short termism of targeting him. As it was, he gave them 1 good season

Those pieces remind me of the death throes of the last Conservative government where you get articles weekly on how Sunak will turn it around and that they won’t poll below 30% and there is a lot of shy Tories same paper as well.

Of course complete and utter bollocks.

I actually think things might go a little better for them this season (nowhere to go but up..). Their start is not that brutal, albeit with a difficult first match versus Arsenal. Going to Fulham the next weekend is probably the key fixture for them to get off on a better foot this season.
