United are very likely to lose - their only credible midfielders are now crocked, so they’re left with slow players in the back 3 (de Ligt, Maguire, Yoro), slow players in the middle (Bruno, Casemiro, Ericksen), and slow or shite players up front (Hojlund, Zirkzee, Garnacho). I guess their wingbacks could win the game for them, which would be…checks notes… Dorgu and Dalot.
They’re megafucked. If they don’t win one of the EL or FA Cup, they’ll be completely out of Europe next season which means a massive loss of revenue for them, coming after they’ve already briefed the press that they can’t buy in the summer without selling. Would imagine Garnacho and Mainoo will both be gone, Rashford too for 40M to Villa. They have over 150M due to other teams for player fee amortization payments this summer. You absolutely fucking love to see it.

It’s not necceserily bloated. I think the Keiren Maguire piece i linked to argues they have more staff because they are needed (for example to fulfil reporting requirements as a listed company, etc that other clubs dont).

They have suffered injuries to Martinez, Diallo, Mainoo and Ugarte in the last week and now Erikson and Yorro have been ruled out through illness. That means today their bench includes a 30 year old international CB they have been trying to sell for 3 season and a collection of kids who have 0 PL appearances among them
Take out Lindelof, and United’s bench has the grand total of 0 minutes of Premier League experience.
Remind me, where did all those millions go?

I’ve just realized that after having it explained to me that this new LWB was actually a RWB and it was totally normal to have Dalot playing on the left to have this guy play on the right, today they are actually both on their expected sides.
