Hopefully, There’s a better way around that even if it means a sizable acquiring of roads/homes etc. Provided it’s needed. Understand it’s not possible now. But who knows what’s the requirement some 25 years into the future.
I actually think there is an upper limit on stadium size. The infrastructure around Anfield won’t support a 100k stadium in Stanley Park. I do expect they will do feasibility studies into how to expand at some point.
We probably need an 80k limit with current demand. People talk about that list but how many on that list would continue their membership and considering the club has to come out and encourage people not to leave their seats empty you wonder.
I remember up to about 2019 under Klopp you could get tickets if you followed the additional member sales.
We were chasing down the title and won the CL that season.
There are season tickets that have been effectively passed down like family heirlooms. It’s quite possible that many of those on the waiting list for tickets are actually using the ticket from great-uncle Jack, now aged 136.
Oh, there’s a suggestion there all right - ‘centerpiece of the regeneration of the Old Trafford area’ is billionaire-speak for ‘I want the taxpayer to fund this’
Dude they are the renders for United Legends Vs Blackburn legends in 20 years time. Gary Neville will be strapping on the boots as a 70yo and the 100k fans can hark back to the team of their most recent success.
Listening to the podcast interview of Ratcliffe and he says tha Amorim has a set of principles and he agrees with how Amorim has dealt with players like Rashford and then says that the players have to abide by those principles to be totally and utterly committed to winning the next football match.
Amorim should sack/drop himself as he keeps picking a formation that doesn’t suit the players he has got and is therefore not utterly committed to winning the next game.
I’m willing to bet both my left AND right bollock that this monstrosity of a stadium never gets built. This is classic bait-and-switch PR nonsense to try and placate fans in the middle of United’s worst ever PL season. Anyone with some objectivity can see that the club are in over 1B pounds of debt/owed transfer payments, have seen revenues decline and profits decline over the last 4-5 years, are looking at their playing squad getting even worse next season, and Ratcliffe himself claimed that without making the cuts they’ve made, the club would be broke by Christmas 2025. Yet despite all of this, they’re going to get to work building a brand new big-top circus tent stadium that is estimated to cost over 2B quid (guaranteed it will be much more than this - see Spurs’ new stadium)??? Use your fucking filbert, lads. This ain’t happening. They will claim that the whole thing relied on government subsidies and tax breaks, and because the government didn’t come through it’s had to be scrapped. We see this sort of nonsense happen all over the world - but it will generate some short-term revenue and good will for the United owners, and that’s all they care about.
