The Man Utd thread

There’s someone worth way north of 300B and he still wants Even More. :slightly_smiling_face:

True but we should question all of it not start making comparisons.

The greed of Man knows no bounds.
The richer the greedier.
Of course, as in everything else, there are exceptions to the rule.
From the numerous mere millionaires to the rarefied centibillionaires of which there are at least 15 (not sure about latest figures), not that many are (publicly) are committed to the better good of mankind.
The majority are selfishly chasing greater heights to their money mountain. The more the merrier.
Most of us here will likely witness the ascent of the world’s first trillionaire within our lifetime.

Just imagine a world in which a person’s private wealth could give them as much power as a President. Oh wait … :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Yes the old adage one man one vote may be a thing, but not everyone has an equal right, it all comes down to :dollar: :dollar: :dollar:

After the money talk, let’s get back on track.
They’re now undefeated in their last 4 PL matches, just behind 7th placed Brighton with 5. Neverton’s 9 puts them in second place.
Has Amorim finally turned the last of his many corners and is staying there for how long?

Source?

If that’s right, then the Merseyside derby could see either one of the top two losing their spot. Probably just means a bore draw though…

They’ve not really come up against a team in form of late. Last 4 PL games were;

  • Everton (A) - D - 2-2
  • Ipswich (H) - W - 3-2
  • Arsenal (H) - D - 1-1
  • Leicester (A) - W - 3-0

Given their squad, you expect them to beat three of those teams. Could easily have lost to Arsenal.

The next four will show what progress has been made - they’ve got Forest (A), Man City (H), Newcastle (A), Wolves (H). Fully expect them to lose at least two of those.

The gang loses all four

Hence my question as my doubts about Amorim is deeply seated.
Good but not great, and highly overhyped.

“You’ve been in the WhatsApp (group) for years, banter, sending people pictures and all sorts, you guys would have a field day,” he says with a laugh.

“I remember sitting in the bedroom, going like: ‘Lads, it’s been a pleasure and blah, blah, blah. Some I’ve played with a lot, some I’ve only just met, but it’s been an absolute pleasure. I wish you all the best and I’ll be your biggest supporter’.”

“I gave it a minute and there was no response. Gone, gone, gone, I’m gone! No one cares. But that’s it. It’s football. Things move so quickly.”

Yeah don’t most people have this once they leave a workplace?

Football isnt a normal job though. It is one that defines the identity of most people who play, which is why it leaves such a void when people are forced to finally walk away from it. It would be healthier if this werent the case, but most the players who have no issue like this once they walked away were the ones who didnt really like the game that much and just did it as a job.

Yeah, all joking about his odd faces aside, it is a tough transition for a lot of athletes.

Reminds me of that anecdote bout Mané asking a team mate who Buvac was when they announced his resignation in the dressing room
