It would be good if Trump pivoted away from Netanyahu, with an increasing Jewish diaspora urging him on because they don’t want to be associated with what is happening.
It’s only anecdotal, but my Jewish next door neighbor was at pains to point out to me, a while ago now, ‘this is not in my name.’ It was a bit strange that she felt the need to say it, as she watched events unfold in Gaza, but on reflection it probably revealed the underlying feeling of many Jews in America.
One can only hope that their view rises to the top, and it catches Trump’s attention. Right now America’s policy toward Israel is probably more influenced by Christian Nationalists, more than anything else. They have an odd blend of pseudo-Christianity and American exceptionalism, taking the worst aspects of both and giving us MAGA.

I think it is gold. Yama is so excellent, thoughtful and non-provocative. He is so adept at getting his subjects to open up up and tell their true opinions and feelings in a non-rushed manner. Very unlike what you see from CNN and NBC.

It was very nice in the end. I made a tomato soup, then added macroni, garlic, more garlic, chili oil, sausages and sweet pepper. Then bread and butter at the side.
I am actually very happy about the meal as it was super adhoc with no recipe

Yes and no. Primarily claiming credit by removing Hezbollah from the equation so that they could not defend Assad.
It’s been noted before the fall of the Assad regime would probably not have happened if the geopolitical factors of a weakened Iran, a removed Hezbollah etc. had not been there. So he is taking delight in saying that the war in Gaza is responsible for removing Assad in a round about way.
It’s incredibly arrogant of course. But people who say this (not Netanyahu, but researchers), usually say that Hamas is responsible for removing Assad by proxy, by triggering a cascade of uncontrolled related geopolitical events.

I’m not disputing I really haven’t followed this regions affaires much. All this shit about saying anything about Israel getting you labelled as anti semitic meant the less I know the less likely I am to put my foot in it.

A group of civil activists have decided to take four of the seven members of the Swiss government to court for ‘supporting crimes against humanity’ regarding Gaza. Well done. There are also petitions circulating to pressurize this coward government to finally take ation against the ignominy currently taking place. Until now, without much effect, bar a half-arsed comment ‘remembering Israel that it has duties re- international law’. This is so, so short-sighted…
