There never was. We’re just seeing it in real time now
Why are you so surprised at this ?
The sooner people actively realise that most of their govts are hand in glove with Israel over their genocide , the better.
I’ve had the realisation much earlier. There’s no holier than thou attitude.
And the whole point of who’s lesser culpable. Our tax money enables the genocide. Whether it is actively buying Israeli goods or enabling the enabler govts(in US/ UK/(include every country in the world in there including China Russia india etc etc)
The Zionist lobby is far too strong in democratic western nations. It needs to be excised from the body politic.
useless to say zionist lobby alone when the lobby for muslim countries isn’t lesser.
end result is that no one really wants a palestine.
I don’t understand what you mean.
saudi’s get away too right ? There are countries who’ve gotten away with literal genocide (abetted in quite a lot of cases by western superpowers).
ort are we just letting the Saudi’s abetment of Wahabbism go?
My guess is that it is surprisingly accurate. While there are undoubtedly ‘missing’ that are actually dead under rubble, it has always been astonishing to me just how many people survive these incidents of phenomenal destruction. It underscores just how critical medical aid is, starvation and disease are far more ruthless in finishing the survivors than a toppled building.
Yeah, I’m far more concerned with the numbers of your latter points, rather than those from people under the rubble.

Famine in Gaza City means “deaths will increase exponentially”, UN-backed organisation warns
Famine has been confirmed in Gaza City for the first time, a UN-backed body responsible for monitoring food security says.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has raised its classification to Phase 5, the highest and worst level of its acute food insecurity scale.
The report states:
- The Famine Review Committee (FRC) has determined that Famine (IPC Phase 5) is now occurring in Gaza Governorate. Furthermore, the FRC projects Famine (IPC Phase 5) thresholds to be crossed in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis Governorates in the coming weeks.
- As this Famine is entirely human-made, it can be halted and reversed. The time for debate and hesitation has passed, starvation is present and is rapidly spreading. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that an immediate, at-scale response is needed. Any further delay - even by days - will result in a totally unacceptable escalation of Famine-related mortality. If a ceasefire is not implemented to allow humanitarian aid to reach everyone in the Gaza Strip, and if essential food supplies, and basic health, nutrition, and WASH services are not restored immediately, avoidable deaths will increase exponentially.
From the BBC live-feed:
- Famine has been confirmed in Gaza City and its surrounding area for the first time, a UN-backed food security body says
- The IPC says more than 500,000 people in the Strip are facing “starvation, destitution and death”, with “catastrophic conditions” projected to expand to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis next month
- Israel’s foreign ministry rejects the report, saying “there is no famine in Gaza”
- UN chief António Guterres says the crisis is “a man-made disaster” as he calls for unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza
- It comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his cabinet has approved plans for a new assault on Gaza City
- The IDF says it has told doctors and aid workers to start making evacuation arrangements ahead of its expanded offensive
- Israel does not allow international news organisations, including the BBC, into Gaza to report freely
This is a testimony of a Swiss nurse who has recently returned to Gaza, after a longer spell a few months ago. At a time when the Israeli government denies any famine and any wrongdoing in Gaza, this kind of direct, neutral testimonies is super-important right now imo. This woman isn’t acquainted with Hamas, she’s just there to help the civilians. Her testimony is 100% accurate and honest. The source is rts.info, a reliable Swiss source. It’s in french, but I paste the translation as well:
Sonam Dreyer-Cornut, back in Gaza: “A few months ago, I told myself it couldn’t get any worse… but it has.” Interview with Sonam Dreyer-Cornut, Medical Coordinator for MSF 19h30 / 4 min. / yesterday at 7:30 PM
Sonam Dreyer-Cornut, a nurse from Valais and medical coordinator for the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), has returned to the Gaza Strip after her first trip between February and May 2025. Interviewed on the 19h30 news program, she describes a daily reality that has significantly worsened in recent months.
“Since my last stay in Gaza, the situation has changed a lot,” says Sonam Dreyer-Cornut, who works in a clinic north of Gaza City.
“What is striking is the number of people. The population—1.2 million people—is crammed into a tiny area the size of the city of Sion. They are trapped there, full of anxiety, afraid, wondering whether they should head south or wait for evacuation orders.”
The nurse describes a constantly anxiety-inducing environment, with Israeli troops continuing to advance and negotiations with very uncertain outcomes. “The current environment is catastrophic,” she continues.
Patients must leave quickly to free up beds
After her first trip, the Valais nurse had said she had never seen anything worse. But today, the reality is far beyond what she could have imagined. “We are in a completely surreal situation. A few months ago, I told myself it couldn’t get any worse… but it has.”
— The current environment is catastrophic — Sonam Dreyer-Cornut
Currently, several hospitals have bed occupancy rates reaching 300%, Dreyer-Cornut reports. “And all these cases that hospitals cannot keep, because they need to make room for others, have to leave. Patients who normally should stay for at least one or two weeks are discharged after 24 hours with external fixators and just dressings,” she describes.
Moreover, the number of patients is rising rapidly, delaying their care, and cases are becoming increasingly acute, including extensive and severe burns.
Nearly impossible access to food
Sonam Dreyer-Cornut also notes that access to food in Gaza is becoming increasingly difficult, and what does get through arrives in a trickle and “absolutely not in sufficient quantities.” The priority for MSF and its partners is already ensuring water distribution.
— I barely recognized some of my colleagues — Sonam Dreyer-Cornut
“When I returned three months later, I noticed that the population and my colleagues had lost a lot of weight,” she observed. “I barely recognized some of my colleagues.”
Regarding the future, the nurse confides that she and her teams are organizing to hold out as long as possible. “Because we know that people will stay, some because they have nowhere else to go and because the hope for a ceasefire remains.”

For context, when she says that 1.2 millions are crammed in an area as small as the town of Sion: this is a small Swiss city with a population of around 35k.
Edit: it’s worthwhile to have a look at the video in the link as well. She has filmed the scenes herself.
It’s a testament to how cowed the world is to Israel that even after being poked in the eye with evidence of starvation as a method of ethnic cleansing there is no widespread action to help these poor innocent people.
Israel continues to lie that there is no starvation or famine.
