Haven’t found any links to the UAV footage online, so I have only seen it once - but that now seems at least possible. The initial blast doesn’t even appear to hit the hospital building, the strike appears to land in an adjacent parking lot, producing an initial explosion and then a much larger secondary blast. That secondary blast is what damages a very large section of the hospital building.
I saw one video of the footage, can’t find it anymore. It was the one with 2 explosions. Not sure if that was the hospital hit today or the previous one.
The horrible explosions and aftermath, not 100% sure if this is todays one. You can hear the 2 explosions. It’s harder to see it due to the camera moving, but you can see two smoke clouds. Once again doesn’t prove anything on either side.
Fwiw , I think this was an attack by Hamas or their allied jihadi groups. The optics around this (impending Biden visit) etc etc are clearly too big an opportunity for Hamas to not score brownie points and paint themselves as victims by sacrificing the lives in the hospital. They have shown callous disregard for the lives before.
Israel is less likely to do that because the Biden visit of solidarity is important to them.
Whilst it’s certainly true that Hamas have shown flagrant disregard for Palestinian lives in the past, surely deliberately bombing one of their own hospitals would mean they lose goodwill from their own civilians, as well as the entire wider world.
It is possible that the strike was an accident from Hamas, but it still remains odds-on that the Israelis were the perpetrators.
The IDF has said there were none of their missiles in that area during the time of the attack.
I don’t quite think that they would be that dumb to plan a hit of that magnitude especially when a world leader like Biden is visiting at a time like this.
