No man, Floor Jansen, Nightwish. And they are friends too for long time.
Floor’s an unbelievable singer. Probably the best going around right now. Never was a fan of the earlier Nightwish singer.
The Red Hair sorta caught me out.
Yeah i agree completely, the best vocalist of today imho, male or female. I absolutely love some songs by Tarja but hate many songs by Tarja because she was too rigid in her style, always classical singing, its nauseating sometimes. Annette was just a studio artist, i love many studio songs by her, but hate all of her live performance.
Floor is just on another level imo. Classical, death growls, metal voice, pop voice, normal tune, whatever, she can do it all. I hate her when she arrived at Nightwish, but man, has she changed mind big time.
Definitely needs to be in the conversation of the best current vocalist. You have guys like Devin, Mike Patton, Danny Gildenlow too in that conversation as well
Yeah, those are great singers and musicians too, no doubt about it. But ‘best’ tag can also be a bit subjective as so many variables are there. Nonetheless, the best sets themselves apart from the pack.

what a beautiful voice.
His Dad had better control and a wider range but comparisons are odious I listen to them and get equally as much out of the music:
I’ll raise you…
Awesome piece of music!
Doing a little tribute to Eddie Van Halen tonight, can’t wait
Head band on, ciggy placed carefully in the strings on the headstock. Ripping Eruption on your front doorstep?
Was a little more, erm, spicy
Come back the Shire-horses…
Coincidently I started learning Brothers in Arms on the guitar last night. Long way to go, I’m shit.
Which brings me to an interesting topic. I could try and learn this note for note, which would be pretty cool but there’s this part of me that says I should just learn the major hooks and focus on playing “my” version of the song. A much harder route considering where I’m starting from but I’d get far more out of it in the long run.
Talk of Sinead always reminds me of this great Bob Marley track: one of her and my favourite protest songs:
