I’m surprised at the huge gap between Sweden and Finland. I thought that would have been a lot closer.

Also, Greece is a lot higher than I would have expected

Went to see From the Jam, supported by Ruts DC a couple of weeks back.
Very sad to see Bruce Foxton struggling and looking so frail :frowning:

It’s such an incredible mix. Whispering Grass was a novelty record. Bohemian Rhapsody was one of the most complicated recordings ever attempted, and It Must Be Love is pure, perfect pop. (I never knew for years that the vocal backing was overdubs rather than a Mellotron).

There is a big cultural gap between me and Mrs Limie so that she has no references to any of the music I grew up with. But last night while my YouTube algorithm was playing the Lightening Seeds kicked in with Pure. It stopped her in her tracks. Brodie is so under appreciated. Pure really is peak pop

Not the stats. But pretty accurate.

Most new metal bands are from that Nordic belt.

Have they just re-releasd the film of Floyd at Pompei? I keep seeing adverts for it.

I think so, there is a new 2025 release on Spotify too.

Tempted, but would probably end up being a disappointment.
Can’t picture the Pistols without Lydon on vocals

The rest of the bill looks good as well, but I always get the feeling that old bands eventually turn into tribute acts of themselves.

Not to mention the Buckfast brigade out in force.
Probably give it a miss

Yeah, he was troubled, no doubt, but what a fantastic musician.
Some of the greatest music ever was made by him and his band.

Here he is covering one of the many songs from his hero…

hmmm … I really can’t imagine anything more pointless than Pulp making a ‘comeback’ (and a listen to the single confirmed it).

Here’s a reminder from when they were relevant ;
