I’ve been a huge fan since ‘84. Been to a fair few gigs. The best live band by far.
My nomination for the most under appreciated band:
Manic Street Preachers
Any opinions?
Yeah I like them, probably spearheaded the import of US grunge into the UK. I didnt think they could hold plateau long enough and I guess the guy that disappeared took a lot of their creative mojo with him. They lost the dualistic energy most great bands crave, unless of course you are Bowie or Dylan anomalies.
Great points. I actually think they improved after Edwards disappearance. They grew up and sharpened up their songwriting.

Sometimes I think this is the best track on the album, and at other times, I know it is!
Seeing the Sisters Of Mercy earlier in the thread has made me go old school:
Fucking brilliant.
This came out about the same time as fluoxetine, right?
The medication?
Prozac, its depressing.
Im surprised at you this song is untouchable; George is unhappy.

My gift to you for today, @Barnestormer
When words drip like honey.
Should have said earlier, easily one of the best band names ever, BTW.
I’ve been a huge fan too. My first album was “The Unforgettable Fire” 84 my first gig was ZOO TV in Denmark.
And I still love the music
