That’s on Soused. I’ll work my way through that album, but it’s ear food that seems to need lengthy digestion so I’ll chew carefully before swallowing.
This is pure ice cream easy to eat uplifting mainstream pop that has a resilient message that everyone can get behind in this year.
My Pop song of 2020 award goes to Brontë Fall
I like a B7 myself. Does not crop up a lot but I know a couple of songs that use it . My tastes tend to be more American folk and country.
Best archival live album of 2020
‘I’m only dancing the Soul Tour 1974’
It got into the top 20 in August on it’s Record Store Day vinyl release.
The very best track from the evening isn’t yet on YouTube ( Rock’n’Roll suicide) but this is:

Best studio re-release 2020:
Motörhead - Ace of Spades (40th Anniversary box set)
(not very happy with the mix, the bass is way too low on the studio album, the live album has the mix just right)

2 Luxumbra - South for winter (Americana)
3 Paradise Lost - Anna Prohaska (Classical)
4 Volutes - Snowdrops (Ambient)
5 songs - Adrianne Lenker (Folk)
6 Gold Record - Bill Callahan (Folk)
7 Fetch the bolt cutters - Fiona Apple (Pop)

Just to get the New Year started, one of the finest blues guitarists ever to draw breath, Rory Gallagher:
Sorry about the poor picture quality, but the sound is sublime, just what you’d expect from a vintage Triolian in the hands of a master.
I use bandcamp for Flac file download purchases and Tidal (Hifi subscription) as my streaming service. The list above has 1 bandcamp purchase (Bill Callahan) and the rest of the artists get the payment per stream Tidal offers. ( Probably 5 times higher than Spotify and 50 times higher than YouTube)

Love it. My sort of music.
This is one of those songs I “taught” my kids before they were even 10.
Did you watch the movie yesterday?
Not yesterday, but do try and watch it a couple of times a year.
It was one of my old dads favourites, so it brings him back into the land of the living when it is on.
It has a feelgood factor and makes me chuckle at the way he used to get totally engrossed in it.

Great drum sound on this modern Krautrock track. This group had a break from recording for 9 years until Corona forced them back into the studio.

Another one with unbelievable percussion playing.
Sigur Rós take what they do immensely seriously and it’s easy to make fun of that. But have you ever seen more concentration on a drummer’s face?
This series hs been going on for a while, but there’s some real gems in there, like this one:
On a side note, you Brits just don’t know how lucky you are to have the BBC. There may be things to criticise about it, but I don’t know any other organisation in the world that produces so much top quality stuff. Treasure it!
Thank you, I love them, and missed this and visit the Bbc every day!

He reminds me of someone, can’t think who.
I Like a lot of Billy Joels music - think that “we didn’t start the fire” is pretty much a list set to music though. Still, not a bad song. Prefer this song that the catholic church got banned in some states of the USA.- Which of course made the song infinitely more popular. Always thought there was a lot of humour in this song and in Billy Joel - Must say though that I never want to hear Uptown Girl ever again.
