Very evocative little ‘Kleinkunst’ music film. A day spent busking at Friedrichstraße Bahnhof. Nice stuff @Bekloppt

There’s no-one living I would rate more highly than Christian Gerhaher in his ‘Fach’ (Light Baritone German Lied and Opera). The comments written by those viewers favourable to him (amoung some dissenting opinions) say it all. The diction on one side and on the other his sensitivity in how much of his inner emotional relationship with the music he should share with the audience is absolutely spot on. This is how to make the German sung language reach its heights of beauty.

Best one you’ve posted of new stuff; is this new? Hear all sorts of post-punk influences here, Gang of Four, The Fall, Joy Division might be too far, but really enjoyed this, thanks! :+1:

Released yesterday. Thanks. Gang of four met Joy Division and their lovechild grew up on a Sowf Lundon housing estate.

Folk of a very different kind but just as beguiling.
The Roches (debut album 1979, produced by Robert Fripp)

I’m an absolute sucker for breathy, intimate female vocals in a foreign language. This Japanese lady won my heart at the end of last year and it couldn’t matter less that I haven’t got a clue what she’s whispering in my shell-like. It couldn’t possibly be as good as what I’m imagining anyway.

First purchase of the year. Streamed it a few times and it’s held its promise.

Liked after 15 secs!!!

Also, the earlier one of the Jap voice; had Its No Game Pt 1 in my head so it was on to a loser.

But very much appreciate this new stuff you post @Jimmyscase; I forwarded Shame on to someone in the business, and they had not heard of it, but it is now music industry approved.

I’ve been on a mission for the last weeks on here, because of a stupidly close-minded post of mine about modern music that very quickly came to sicken me. I’ve given everything that looked half decent a good go since then and I feel really refreshed with a whole lot of respect for what’s going on musically right now.

Which post, when we disagreed on the state of modern music? The stuff you have recently posted is very encouraging, and I predicted this, that youth would not be able to lie down for much longer. I expected a second post punk revival and I can hear it coming. Although this time the lyrics will be far more subversive, whereas the last one in the noughties was a post-punk sound, without the attitude. People are pissed off, it should be expressed by music as parable. Now just for the death of the major labels…
