The Owners - FSG

They just had an awful season. Discontent is understandable, but they are 1 season away from having got to the ALCS. They are 4 seasons away from their last world series. No one has won more than their 2 titles over the past decade. If you go back another 10 years they have twice as many titles as anyone in the league. This is for a club who had won so little over the previous 100 years it was considered a curse. Henry and his group have been an absolute HoF level owner for that club, and after 1 year of shitness fans are positioning it as them having been let down by bad owners

I know their season has been poor but thatā€™s when I first gaged some discontent and it hasnā€™t really dispersed then again itā€™s not too different here, one bad season and every player is garbage according to some.

A wake up call for these greedy owners.

I donā€™t know about greedy but a wake up call for the entire club

Investment in the side is clearly needed. Klopp has been rebuilding his next team. Itā€™s not there yet. At the least, the engine room needs an overhaul.

Beyond that, another central defender is needed, and personally I would start looking for a replacement for Salah and sell him while thereā€™s still value there.

To make the changes at a level high enough to keep us challenging will cost a pretty penny, even if the signings are a mixture of top price, mid price, and Bosman.

Hopefully thereā€™s news on the minor investor soon, along with some information on funds being made available for the rebuild.

Dunno if itā€™s really a wake up call, I think thatā€™s been obvious all season.

Season 3 No GIF by The Office
Without rehashing season long debates, letā€™s just say if it needed any highlighting to the parties who can make a material difference then here it is.

Shame they showed up to the Bournemouth match

Gonna be 1 long summer ahead.

Only if we donā€™t buy anyone.

No smart investor is gonna pour in 2 Billion quids for a minority share in LFC when they will have no say on how the money is gonna be spent.

Iā€™m going on the latest John Henry quotes.

Active discussions, and he thinks something will be done.

Beyond that we donā€™t know the level of the minority stake, and we donā€™t know what sort of say they will have. But I agree, I canā€™t imagine someone putting in as much as Ā£2Billion and not having a voice, that would make no sense.

I would imagine their voice will be in keeping with their holding. And depending on who it is, they may acquire a minor stake with a view to becoming the main stakeholder over time. Just speculative on my part, as we need more information.

My worst case scenario predictions are as follows

  1. There will be no minority investor.
  2. FSG will say there are no interested parties and FSG will do their best to fund the manager like what they did for the last 5 seasons.
  3. There will be departures of players in the midfield. AOC and Keita will leave the club. Bajectic will be the one to replace AOC.
4A. If we have CL next season, we will go all in for Bellingham with a 80m pounds upfront bid and we will see Bellingham signed for Real Madrid/Qatarā€™s Utd with them bombing in with a 100m odd upfront pounds bid to Dortmund. After all that drama, we will monitor Kouadio Kone and sign him right? Nope,Sandcastle United swoops in and signs him.

Whoā€™s left? Nunes, right? Wolves will set a price around 50 -60 million pounds and we have him. Soon, there will be no further incomings and Milner extends his contract.

4B. If we have no UCL, we can forget the drama, we will sign a freebie and Milner extends his contract.

  1. Season starts and we got off the wrong foot again. Some fans will question how Klopp hasnā€™t been able to pull the team together despite given backing by FSG to sign someone.

If we are going to imagine worst case, we could go much further!

We are just going to have to wait and see. We all know the squad needs investment. If FSG say ā‚¬30M Jurgen, thatā€™s your lot, then I will move from what I hope is fair minded and balanced, to FSG out.

Given our revenue, and given the needs in the squad, we need to see some meaningful action on the transfer front. But we will have to wait and see what happens.

Jesus! Why punish yourself like this. If something like this happens then by all meansā€¦but as @RedOverTheWater said just hold fire for a bit. Admittedly Iā€™m not very confident about this summer either but this is just self-flagellation!

Yup, I said earlier in this thread the club needs some form of investment, I had to keep arguing which was a rather sensible and non controversial point but funding needs to be put in place, Sales will generate small amounts but there is no massive surplus we can make from player sales if this is one off short term splurge or comes in the form of investment then who knows.

Iā€™m not talking every summer and Iā€™m not talking lots but it has to in the current market cover at least two good acquisitions with any surplus aales adding to further sales.

Itā€™s why the baby canā€™t be thrown away with the bath water, enough will have to be made from a sale or other to cover say the sale of Fabinho or Matip, or we end up draining the new guys like weā€™ve done with this lot.

Itā€™s wait and see Iā€™ve got my own views but itā€™s just guess work currently, a bit like the team when it turns up to games.

We need a new DOF urgently, someone to save Klopp from himself.

Klopp wants to renew Firmino and Milner, huge red flags. Half the problem with this current team is the extension of contracts with half of them clearly on the decline, we arenā€™t learning.

The bigger problem is us buying and keeping players that are soft!

Still nowhere near our biggest problem, just look at defending corners FFS!

If we havenā€™t money for new players what else can we do.
