The Owners - FSG

Just waffle really.

I wonder how much is FSG looking for 10% to 20%? Is it that reported 2B, John?

Oh. I tried looking and couldnā€™t find anything. Canā€™t be that prominent a group.

We wont. Ward leaving at the end of the season may change the way his input in weighted, or even change his approach to the internal discussions, but we dont need a replacement lined up and announced to understand who weā€™re going to be going after in the summer. The analysis and decision making process is simply a much longer term one than will be undermined by Wardā€™s departure.

Is it just me? Or is ā€œRemains stronger than everā€ correct wording?

I would expect ā€˜Remains ā€˜as strongā€™ as everā€™ or ā€˜Is stronger than everā€™, but that wording doesnā€™t make sense to me?

Agreed.

Much of the legwork will take place before seasons end. Sounding out players and agents. Evaluating players. Potential costs. Building a framework for the window.

Bellingham whether heā€™s signed or not is by the by, but there is a bit of noise around him, and has been for months. Simply no way a deal like that would be on the back burner, as an example so to say. Would be surprised nonetheless.

Uhm, Iā€™m not a native speaker perhaps you should ask somebody else. Could give you advice in Dutch though ā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

To be fair, FSG might feel that they didnā€™t have to Do the PR stuff if a small proportion of our online fanbase didnā€™t act like pricks.

Unless something remarkable happens, everyone we go for this summer will have been lined up under Edwardsā€™s tenure such is the length of our evaluation process and the scope of our planning.

It is not insignificant to have that role be open for next year, especially under the circumstances in which Ward announced his exit, but it does ot mean what the naysayers are doommongering about.

Sorry @Dutch, I wasnā€™t asking you specifically. It just seems odd wording to me? Itā€™s no biggie, but it just sounded wrong to me. :+1::nerd_face:

I thought about saying this too, but didnā€™t want to be branded the new @cynicaloldgit.

I thought it sounded okay because the word commitment that was used before * stronger than ever *ā€¦ to me is an open-ended wordā€¦ As such, it is something that has an ever increasing potential.
:man_shrugging:
As strong as everā€¦ to me, would only remain the same amount

Why do that? The club thrives on CL football both financially and in a football sense. It would be madness to put that at risk by refusing to get the squad right

So another 29m plus sales this summer. The greedy bastards.

You could change your username to cynicalnewgit?:nerd_face:

This is a totally arbitrary number that has no correlation to anything.

This one is fair, to be honest

ā€œWill continue to spend in a responsible manner ā€¦ we have and will continue to focus our attention on investing wisely in the transfer market.ā€

Ignoring the dodgy grammar there, it doesnā€™t seem like FSG are likely to spend the kind of money that many would like to see them spend. So instead of Bellingham and Gvardiol it could be the pair of Portugeezers from Benfica that weā€™re being linked with.

No mention of new investors putting into the club. Yes, the announcement reaffirms their intention to continue as owners, but it also smacks of tempering expectations.
