The Russian Invasion of Ukraine (Part 2)

Nah, I think (they may of course be that too), it is more criticism of Russian army. That whoever must plug the gap will suffer, thus BDS.

As I have been saying and otherwise alluding to, the only opposition in Russia are these guys (and you would be surprised how many they are). Why are they so many ? Well, Russian propaganda creates it’s own monsters. When you convince a large population that they have their backs against the wall and fighting nazis and make Great Russia into a massive romantic ideal, well, then you will have naturally serious growth not only in Kremlin-loyal people, but worse, pure fascism. And it’s the Kremlim who have fostered them with propaganda.

I mean, you have president Medvedev on the Kool-aid spouting pure fascism and end of the world rethoric, what can one expect (he has had seriously a lot of rants where he describes how much he hates Ukrainians as a people).

Russians are very definitely well into the fascist arc - the narrative of betrayal by internal factors as explanation for external failure is already there. Just a matter of picking which group is the scapegoat now.

Exactly, and the Dolchstoßlegende narrative being built is worrying like hell. The problem is that fascism has it’s own truth’s and living myths, and often they are not empirical (I know the correct term for this truth, as explained by 1920s fascist thinkers, but right now on the top of my head I have forgotten it; perhaps you remember). I don’t know the correct word to google after it either, as it is an academic term. Something about National/Romantic Truth (not that, but along those lines), but I can’t seem to remember.

Anyway, in the fascist kultus, which is pretty reigning in Russia right now, empirical facts will tend to be neglected in the masses in favour of ultra right wing conspiracies that plays on Nationalism and imperialism. Blood and earth stuff. Kremlin has allowed this to grow.

his maps do look at lot like what I drew out yesterday with MS Paint, but cleaner (laugh).

He’s also very aware of the possibility of a flanking operation by Russians re-entering from the Belgorod region after the UA moves east towards Starobilisk, which would be a huge logistics hub for Russians wanting to hold onto their supply chain in Luhansk (servicing Severodonetsk/Rubizhne/Lyman)

Yeah, lol. He is not a map maker, haha. But he is much more careful than the likes of Chuck and has a lot of knowledge. He also tends to cross check his sources so he tends to be correct in his analysis.

I’m not a map-maker either

I’m very curious to see what the next progression will be. will Russia escalate to war, will UA be able to push the Russians out before winter? Can they get through Kherson by end of month.
