The Russian Invasion of Ukraine (Part 2)

but how much of the Russian populace are seeing those videos? is Twitter wide open for russians to see, or are they stuck in their own social media interfaces controlled by the state?

Couldn’t tell you, but at this point it must be fairly well known that that autoloader compartment is getting a lot of tankers killed, and there is no way a high profile unit like 1GTA gets mauled without that becoming known in military circles at least.

it’s been a known flaw in their design for a while I think, a hit in a specific spot turns it into a Ruskie-in-the-box

Russians have broken through here.

It is not even really a specific spot - the gunner is sitting right on top of the autoloader feed and exposed rounds. Any turret penetration has a chance of exploding the entire ammunition load.

So the damage that we are seeing is effectively the tank blowing up from the inside out?

Any truth in the assignation attempt on Putin that some media outlets are reporting?

@Magnus you have your finger on the pulse with this stuff, whats your thoughts?

Oh dear.

Yes - that is why the turret goes flying upward. Large explosion directly beneath it sends an enormous force upward.

Russian sources were suggesting that the flooding of the Inhulets River after the attack on the dam at Kryvyi Rih was going to be militarily significant, cutting off Ukrainian forces on the east bank and creating an opportunity for a counterattack. Waters are already receding and that doesn’t appear to have happened.

I don’t think so. Seems not to be the case.
